😂😅🤣 You noticed the smirk. Yup, he knew he killed it. 😂 Dimash was the first singer on the first episode of the show. He WOWED everyone with this performance. He became an overnight sensation and blew up in China and on KZread! I discovered him just a week later when he covered Vitas' song Opera 2. 😂 All of those contestants are professional singers/performers. The Singer is a show for only established artists and Dimash was invited as a Wild Card, because he was just starting his professional career in Kazakhstan. Some people say that Dimash Kudaibergen is the best singer in the world. I don’t know about this because I haven’t heard everyone in the world sing. I know ONE THING for SURE: he is the best singer I have ever heard!

In this video, you see a young (age 22) man from Kazakhstan, singing a French 1970's rock opera piece in a Chinese singoff. Now just a couple of months from turning 30 and has trained classically from age 5. He has perfect pitch, is musically multi-talented. Playing 7 instruments, and has a 7+ octave range. With all of those talents, he believes the greatest things is the emotion and heart a musician can. He is rich beyond belief as most of the world love him and he spends his life touring in concerts and on good will missions. He was the official Ambassador to China by Kazakhstan at age 22. Dimash (Coo Die Bergen) compleated and received his Ph.D in the spring of 2023 after completing a Bachelors and Masters in Music as well. He temporarily moved to the USA to study at the L.A. campus of the NY School of Fine Arts majoring in Film Directing. You should hear him now.

He's a genre defying artist who sings anything from opera to rap. Musically trained since the age of 5, he holds a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is soon to finish his PhD. He's also just been appointed by the United Nations as Global Ambassador for Migration, he recently performed with Placido Domingo when they were both judges on a classical music competition for young people and then released his new MV When I've Got You which is a blues/rock combo with a vampire themed video.

This was a very enjoyable reaction. The song "S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week. At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian. First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China. As part of the contest, all contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. DEE-mosh KOO-die-BEHR-ghen or at least pretty close. That green room held his competitors. They hadn't even heard him before. One song a week per contestant. Full orchestra plus some specialist instruments like some kind of Chinese flute and such. But this was the first night of the 2017 season. The audience didn't know him. He was the only amateur singer, the youngest competitor and from Kazakhstan. I think it was his first real professional competition. The rest were established pros that had been performing in China for a while and had their own fans. So the producers asked the audience to give him a warm welcome to break the ice. Nice move. This song was his critical career moment. Not some Russian amateur music festival competition. The real thing with an elite audience and a few hundred million streaming viewers. I'm pretty sure he understood this was the moment to deliver. When he hit that little pause near the end, the whole audience was silent, hanging on his phrase in anticipation, which meant he had fully hooked them in the song. That was a little smile of relief for about 1/2 second. He made a mistake due to the extreme pressure. He broke character for 1/2 second. I've never seen him do it since. He was so famous the next day, that he needed bodyguards to go shopping. The day before he was unknown. So it worked. It was the moment and he delivered, with a tiny performance flaw. Apparently his French pronunciation was only so-so. Not too surprising being from Kazakhstan surrounded by many nearby languages in Slavic groups, Turkic groups and Mandarin/Cantonese. French isn't high on the list in that area. Just watch his Autumn Strong later in this 2017 competition. He learned that Mandarin song phonetically in a week and killed it. Mad skills.

It wasn´t his first competition. Before this he won several competitions in his countrie and in different countries around ex URSS. In Kazakstah he was on stage since 16 years old. Chinese competition organizers do not invite no matter who.

I liked and subscribed hoping for more Dimash reactions😊 Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 21 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. So beautiful and emotional. By the way the audience is also the jury and the people backstage are the other competitors. During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰. This first performance on the talent show went viral & by morning Dimash was told he would need security when going out! It was his first time in China & he was the only non-Chinese contestant & the youngest one on there. All the Chinese contestants were known singers before the show. Dimash wasn't allowed to win the overall show as they wouldn't allow a non-Chinese to win, though he did win several individual shows from the audience vote. The following year they changed the rules and Jessie J won the show. Dimash stayed in China for 3 years appearing on numerous TV shows (even a reality show called Super Shine Brothers), doing concerts & making an album which went platinum within minutes of being released. He is still a very popular artist there & is invited back all the time for various special concerts. He has done numerous s extravaganzas out there already this year. He isn't just known in China, as he has a worldwide fan base who regularly travel the globe to see him in his live concerts. He is truly a once-in-a-lifetime artist & also the most humble, respectful & loveliest guy in showbiz! He is loved as much for his personality as his fantastic voice. Dimash is pronounced - dee - mash 😉 This is my most favourite song and most favourite performance - I absolutely love it ❤. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and he was taking part in a Chinese talent show when this was recorded. As he isn't chinese, he came 2nd (only Chinese contestants can actually win). I've been on the Dimash train for 5 years or so now, & I always enjoy seeing someone encounter this phenomenal performer for the first time. Phonetically, the K version of his surname is rendered in English as /koo die bur gen/. The Q version (Qudaibergen) employs a sound that doesn't exist in English, but if you can make that sound, then the first syllable is /qoo/ & the rest is the same. (Note : there is no /kw/ sound [as in queen or quick] with the /Qu/ in his Kazakh-rendered name; the /q/ sound is like a /k/, but made an inch or two farther back in the mouth, & the /u/ vowel sound is produced normally, not combined with the /q/ into the /kw/ sound.) A lot of people try to pronounce his name "perfectly", but any respectful effort is certainly good enough. As a linguist, I've studied bits and pieces of 30 or 40 different languages, & I've found that, on the world stage, it's just a fact that I'm gonna run into sounds I can't even distinguish, much less reliably produce myself. Just do your best. That works. Anyway, I enjoyed your reaction a lot. You're gonna be inundated with suggestions as to what all of his work to see next, & in what order, but all I'm gonna say is to hang around & see a LOT.
