I think it has something to do with the fact that this was Charlie and Maverick love song.
I watched this movie with the girl I loved the most and shared this song with her. Now she’s gone, but this memory will last forever. You took my breath away, darling. Be happy wherever you are, whatever you do, whoever you are with. I love you Minnie, more than you’ll ever know.
Connely is still beautiful beyond belief.
Berlin won academy award for best song of that year. That song should have remained in the movie. Iconic
I’m so happy they didn’t use a 20 something actress for once! Jennifer is still so beautiful in her 50s and I love that she was the choice for this part!

Wow I am 49 now and this Maverick took me back to 1980' when I was in my teens . Loved old one growing up copying Tom and his Ray bans . Now just came out of cinema watched Maverick blown me away , the cast , the cinematography, music , dialogues , production was just epic . Jennifer still looks so stunning one of my favorite actresses. Tom being legend due to his versatile talent in Cinema creating so many different scripts and roles . He will be remembered for a very long time and generations to come truly he has left nothing in the tank that's why he is so good to connect with audiences around the world 🌎 ❤️

I listened to Lady Gaga top gun song then this song by Berlin, man there is absolutely no comparison. I am so very to have grown up in the 80"s the music, the movies, the actors, the clothes, everything was just magical in that decade. It can never be duplicated.

I am literally crying... This song takes me in a time machine to 80's America.... Without all the wokeness, political correctness, people weren't confused which bathroom to use.... And the cancer called social media was non existent.... I love you 80' America.... Movies like predator, Terminator...were yet to come...

Such a classic and Tom and of course Jennifer both look amazing. She looks better at 52 than 32. The movie, the song, the actors make it even more special
Cruise is such a phenomenal actor, MY GOD!! Like this action based turn is simply supposed to be a typical leading man movie star turn yet Cruise brings SO much depth in this to his character. He seems so natural and refined in his acting. Just brilliant. Want to see him desperately in a dramatic role again.

@@JakeMcClake2 I think it's more about how you buy the conviction actor is putting into either his dialogues/silences. That's VERY much the job of an actor and mark of good acting. For example Cruise naturally has a really sad melancholic face in this movie. Regrets, and responsibilities show up VERY naturally on his face and eyes without him ever trying TOO hard.

The only answer to my question is good actors are the ones that good directors want in their films, repeatedly. Admittedly there are some good directors that Tom Cruise works for over and over.

I was on base At Miramar when the original was filmed. I had no idea. I did however, remember seeing the volleyball scene and cameras. My ex was in the military and I was at the hotel across the street watching. Crazy still to me. I now am in NorCal and they filmed this here and Nevada. Full circle.
It's great that Tom Cruise included the soundtrack from the 1986 Top Gun Movie - "TAKE MY BREATH AWAY" sang by "BERLIN". A great tribute and nod to the first movie and soundtrack. I am sure that the group Berlin and Jerry Bruckheimer would have been so grateful and honoured.
