So glad you added a FFF layer! No more need to combine these instruments with Metropolis Brass or other libraries. Thank you!

Alex, people say BB is good for making orchestral music, but weak for big epic cinematic music. What do you think about this?

@@bulentkamali I guess it depends on what type of sounds you would qualify as big and epic. If you’re looking for the very large ensemble sound where the instruments blend into a more homogeneous sound (the modern trailer sound), then I would say Berlin Brass isn’t ideal for that. For me, the strengths of Berlin Brass, are: definition of each individual instrument, orchestral realism, versatility, and most importantly, control over every separate instrument. In my opinion, a real orchestra has a massive potential to be epic, but orchestration skills are potentially more important in that case. I actually like this, because I feel that it has forced me to become a better orchestrator. The Star Wars soundtrack is very epic, and that type of sound is definitely achievable with Berlin Brass - especially with the new update. If you take a look at my channel, and listen to “Dragon Battle,” “The One They Fear,” or “It Was Taller Than The Trees,” those are using only brass from Berlin Brass, so you can get an idea for their usage in a aggressive/loud orchestral context, and let your ears decide. Those are from before the update though, so they would potentially be even more epic now. Hope that helps!

    I always use some sort of session brass (6, 4, 4, 2) rather than concert brass (4, 3, 3, 1)… Session Brass is… Horn 1 Horn 2 Horn 3 Horn 4 Horn 5 Horn 6 Trumpet 1 Trumpet 2 Trumpet 3 Trumpet 4 Trombone 1 Trombone 2 Trombone 3 Bass Trombone Tuba 1 Tuba 2

Orchestral Tools also sampled the ensembles and not just the individual instruments. This gives the whole thing a more realistic touch. Subjectively, however, everyone has to decide for themselves which library one likes. It is also a matter of which sound you prefer, and that is purely a matter of taste. EDIT: I suggest you to check out both products in detail on their respective websites, where you find every information about mics, articulations, etc.

@@DJKLProductions Thank you! Purchased my copy of Berlin Brass yesterday. VSL Synchron stage has a very bright sound that I do not like so much... a little too much polished
