I never use mods in base game because they are either too weak to go against vanilla dinosaurs, or too overpowered for a challenge. I have high hopes for the smilo mod, the model, sounds and animations look great!

The broadcast is a real lions roar. And yes it does need new sounds but I am still trying to figure them out. And the textures are fine. You can barely even see it propely in the vid

@@rospaww its a territorial bellow that is only produced by the male of the pride, it lets any male near its territory know that its a claimed area. only male lions make this noise not even tigers or other closely related pantherines produce this noise nevermind a smilodon which broke off from other cats evolutionary a very very long time ago and has about as much in common with a lion as it did a house cat, i dont see why a smilodon which was a forest hunter similar to a tiger and lived a primarily solitary lifestyle would have this call. on top of all of this, there is no evidence to suggest that smilodon had any kind of mane like a lion either as they werent sexually dimorphic both females and males share the same body and skeletal morphology.

@@Tavishburn relax. I never said it's supposed to be 100% realistic. Also u might wanna check out what tigers sound like when they actually roar. Also it is said smilodon was possibly a pack hunter. And the mod doesn't even have an actual mane.

I mean a lot of the creatures logically would’ve hunted in packs- It’s kinda on the player who is solo for being alone at all, get some friends who will help and even your chances or practice and learn pvp more.

@@n1ak Of course, though there’s only so much logic to be applied, for stegosaurus would’ve never seen a trex either, and yet here’s this game. And well if that’s the case you must have dabbled in pvp quite a bit, so perhaps it’s time for the role reversal. You say it’s too easy now so make it harder, change species, lower the group size and make it a challenge. Cause I understand what you mean, this game can get very slow sometimes.

in reality most of the roster would body a smilodon. lions today are absolutely shat on by their large prey items nevermind smilodons which arent that much bigger than lions attacking something thats 10x bigger and heavier than itself. nah man, its the same shit that makes megalania stupid af in the game

Being completely constructive, unfortunately I don’t think the model is that incredible. The fur is meshed to appear as a part of the actual body which loses its texture making it look like a roblox model. It is possible to make this due and hair appear natural and not the actual body as seen in the theri mod. If it’s possible, you could collaborate with the theri modelers or simply ask for help on how to the fur, fur.

3D hair is one of the most difficult things. I only have 3 months of experience of modeling and everything included. This is also something I do on my free time without getting paid so im not going to pay for to comission either. I am learning the 3D hair part and my other creatures will have it. Smilo can't atm because of something you probably wouldn't understand but when it gets a tlc one day it will too. You don't have to play it if u don't like it

Interesting mod but somehow I feel these kind of creatures not fits to a game that about the dinos but at least looks nice and seem to work properly. There is a game that is actually less popular and it's about the cenozoic era the game also named as The Cenozoic Era. I would like that game aswell succeed but currently 30-50 players plays it at most so not as popular and have less money for the developer-developers to make that game. I would like a game about the permian and carboniferous era aswell.
