Most places selling nasi champor and nasi lemak will have begedil... Some with hard potatoes inside , some very soft.. Both also filling and yummy

Hi again you young guys. In the hunt for 'bergendil', if they give you confused looks, pronounce it as 'Burger-dale'. The spelling can either be 'begedil' (malay) or 'perkedel' (Indonesia). The dish actualy originated from the Dutch and called 'Frikadeller'. The meatballs from IKEA is its cousin, the difference is the shape (flattened balls) with added local spices.

Frikadeller and meatballs are made of meat not potatoes: www.daringgourmet.com/frikadeller-frikadellen/ in Sweden we eat frikadeller boiled in soup and meatballs fried with potatoes. No potatoes in them.

@@dananna8614 Oh ok thanks. Then the info I got was not accurate. Just meat then for Frikadellar. I should have searched from multiple sources. Anyway, 'Burger-dale' is a regional dish now. Not necessary to look for the actual origin unless we want to start a war of words between some enthusiastic youths. Enjoy the food here.

Hello DanAnna! You like begedil Anna? My family is a begedil enthusiast too! We like the fry potato version and not the boil potato version… when you fry the potatoes and smash them it gives a sweeter taste… not exactly very healthy but very yummy…🤣

Actually " bergedil" originated from the dutch and german's " Frikadel" ( Sorry if spelt wrongly) . I had eaten frikadel in Germany and it taste almost the same as bergedill . Maybe the german used more mince beef and black pepper.

@@dananna8614 Maybe I was confuse with the name. But the one ate ( cooked by friend's mother) in Germany was exactly like bergedil and taste the same, except it has more meat to potato ratio than bergedil. Both are coated with eggs and fried.

Try sup kambing. Very delicious. So many varieties sup kambing. If you are man , you should try SUP EKOR or SUP Torpedo. It's very powerful you know.

@@dananna8614 Just tear off the plastic..We don't need to fry them.. Never at all..😁 Dip Tempe into flour mixture with a bit pepper ..salt until to taste and seasoning/chicken stock.. So yummy..Or it can be fried just like that..But don't forget to put salt and some seasoning..hehehe👍👍

one day you must try with your hand..is not bout the malay culture but you notice the diference taste and feel between the cutey and your hands..don't worryy bout the fodd dall off because you not so good using your hand..but it is the process of learning..just using your right hand..you will feel the difference..

I'm not a big fan nasi lemak wanjo becoz of the sambal.. it not authentic.. not taste like home made sambal.. anyway the restaurant is very clean.. i hope they will improve the sambal.
