A fine look at a fine hub; they really DO speed things up when building with Berd and an absolute pleasure. Assuming spares become readily available (got to say that trouble replacing freehub bearings sounds no fun to me...) then I'll be pushing Talon builds as my preference for entry level Berd builds with Onyx being the 'upgrade' option. Keep up the good work!

happy to say that all of the spare parts for the Berd Talon hubs are now available! They're also showed themselves to be very good quality and durable. -Tristan

Most people would choose Berd spokes to shave a few grams off a wheelset, so why would they pick a 460g hub set? It makes no sense. A set of 240 with Laser spokes would be the same weight, cheaper, easier to maintain, etc....

We're actually finding that the ride quality is the main draw for Berd spoke owners. Your point is valid though and building something like a DT Swiss 180 hub with Berd spokes will drop some weight. At the end of the day these are the questions that can be answered by custom wheels...everyone has slightly different wants/needs and there are often different ways of answering the same question :-) -Tristan

The logo design is hideous. The Talon font looks AliExpress quality.
