I love these kinds of video, straight or the point, clear, honest, short. Not like those other channels that talk so much and are 15 mins long .. this is a tough one … I like them both but mainly the apple but it’s the shape for me.. my small head makes the ear muffs look way bigger .. like a Eskimo !

This is a good and balanced review. Beoplay HX has gotten a firmware update since you made the video, and the problem with distorted base, has been very much improved. I would also like to mention that you got the weight on the HX wrong. They are not 360 g, but only 285 g, which makes them substantial lighter than the AirPods max. my pick would definitely be the Beoplay HX.

I have the AirPods Max and I’ve used only 10 times for no more than an hour each time due to the weight and pressure the put on my ears do the b&o are more comfortable and sound better than the AirPods Max?

@@davidc.7838I switched from the AirPod Max to the HX for the reason you describe, I found the weight and clamping force too much over time. The quality of sound and comfort of the BX is far superior to the APM but I would say the Max have better noise cancellation

Excellent video: concise and visually engaging. The B&Os bass easily "cracking" (or the driver giving up) was also an issue on the wired H6 (2nd Gen.); it has also been mentioned on written reviews of the HX, though it seems to slip by most KZreadrs... I prefer B&O headphones, overall, vs. Apple. Yet, Sennheiser & AKG produce the best sound, in my opinion, and their prices are more "realistic".

I just reviewed the Beoplay EQ. Such contrasting products. Absolutely loved that sound coming from the EQ. whereas the HX was a bit disappointing to be honest

That is correct! The new firmwire deals with the crackling of sound when you crank up the bass or the volume on the HX

Do the hx have enough clamping force? My h7 don't clamp hard enough so the slide off my head a bit too easily

As a B&O fan, I really enjoyed this comparison. You were very transparent and fair. The B&O sound profile is very unique, and it lacks the "umph" on the bass. I personally like that but your review is spot on because 9/10 consumers will prefer the thumping bass.

No i dont prefer that bass because I like balanced sounds specially for hi res audio in wav flac not using spotify or any streaming etc so the sound should be giving to B&O if not a bass head hip hop fan in that case just go for the cheaper stuff like dr dre beat instead of apple i would say hes review is not spot on because hes more of bass head i also prefer the leather in moderate to cool climates. apple headphones are not for hi fi or hi res audio....

I agree with most of this except how do you know what Apple's headphones sound like with the ANC off?

Well there are 3 modes, ANC ON, Transperancy, and OFF. So "OFF" i guess means no ANC

I have both. Qc45 is more fun but its soundstage precision is not as good as HX. Qc45 is better for hype movies with that bass tho. HX is more relaxed and precise for hours of usage

@@PaulScholes1974 I’ve actually gone for the B&O HX simply because it sounds good despite bass is not as strong (obvious) compare to the bose but is very comfortable and feels very luxury on hand.

Where I live the Airpods Max is about 200 USD more expensive than the B&O HX. The H95 is about 200 USD more than the Apple headphone. I would only select the Apple headphone if I'm in the Apple ecosystem, otherwise not.

is the fabric on the hx washable in case i sweat while exercising?

If the AirPods Max are out of charge then you can not use them. It does not support analogue audio either. But it will let you play audio while it is being charged though.

Great comparison. Nut that I am I own both. They are both terrific headphones, but the HX is my favorite. It is very comfortable to wear and covers all the bases well. I agree that the volume control is sketchy. One thing they both lack is weather resistance.

I would stick with Max unless you dislike them for some reason. They compare favorably with the competition. I like the HX because I find them comfortable to wear.

That is a weird problem mate. have you checked if you are on the latest firmware? Also resetting might solve it. Mine still works well, so if it is under warranty see if you can replace it

No. They are very different... the Portals are more "game sound" focused and the HX is more "Hifi sound" focused. The mic is better on the HX and they are a bit more premium to the feel.

Actually the Beoplay HX has rectified the bass problem with a firmware update since this video. And the H95 do not have this issue either.

you can use them with any bluetooth device that support bluetooth 5.0 and later. I guess you can use with iPod (unless it is the first generation ones 😂) and it should also work with android

Yeah sorry about the mistake there. I have mistakenly stated the weight of the case. But I guess the main point is that it is still lighter than the Airpods Max 🙂

When I tried on the AirPods Max at an Apple Store I found the noise cancelling noises to be very annoying and prominent.

I've already commented this on another video, but no one has complained about cracking. If you have problems adjusting EQ means the headphones are probably faulty. Similar situation to my E8 sport. You are basically reviewing a faulty product, and trust me I cringed when you thought the sony's sounded better. Watching this I am screaming right now. Return it and review a proper B&O product that doesn't crack because my H9 3rd gen doesn't crack at all...... and I have the bass at the highest possible setting for EDM or Techno.

this is not an isolated problem. It is a design issue specific to the Beoplay HX. I was also able to replicate the same issue on other beoplay HX

Nice review - I think the Beoplay HX is a far more premium headset in many ways - looks better, more interchangeable parts, better for a wide range of music styles like classical, acoustic singing, etc. than the apple. Beoplay HX also looks far better, and while apple makes good products, this headset is flimsy and cheap looking compared to B&O. As a last reason to get B&O, its a fact Apple is far to big and powerfull by now - I have way too many apple products myself, iPhone, iPad, Macs, HomePods - and the world need more diversity and more premium products from smaller, however highly skilled sounddesigners like B&O. So I support Beoplay HX here anytime above Apple. Btw - fun fact: the "wheel" on the first iPods was invented by B&O designers and stolen by Apple.

Some people have small ears not like pancakes, so point for B&O so noise cancelation is optimum for them because small ears, point for B&O, more room for open skin give you more cold air in summer so point is for B&O. Another point for Olsen is less look homosexual from airpods. That is my opinion. Cheers.😋

Hated the AirPods. Heavy. Never stayed on my head while active. Never loud enough. Noise cancelling created an uncomfortable vacuum.

Look at Bang and Olufsen i knew the history invented the headphone/earphone, the clarity and others, how ever the connection ofcourse apple wins that but detail of music yes BnO win and nail that

Saying that the carrying case for the airpods and the B&O are tied, tugs on your credibility a little. Is this real life? I forgive you tho, cause all your other videos are good. Lol.

the HX is horrible, just bought it , and ive complained to their department of north denmark, and waiting a reply. The sound compresses and dampens the volume by at least 5 dB when bass shows up... fucking horrible. airpods max at least let the audio play without altering the attack/release and decay. they only do EQ and thats how its supposed to be. Im Android for life, but apple did the first product that i can back up here. im so disappointed in B&O .... coming from an audioengineer, i would not recommend them until fixed.

$900 and you can get one amazing AAC beautiful deal😆😆😆 wtf the same china quality apple be apple
