So a few months ago we checked out the $800 Bang And Olufsen H95 ANC headphones… now I wouldn’t recommend that you run out and get those headphones cause their price is absurd. But the H95’s are a just a whole experience but themselves cause of their exquisite build quality and aluminum carrying case. But today we’re going to check out the new Bang and Olufsen HX… which are still a little pricey but they are more sensible than the H95’s.

Great review. I have the H8, and was looking into upgrading to the HX, I'm sold! The H8 has lasted for more than 10 years and still awesome noise canceling. It has gotten me through flights, long road trips and and a calming experience as a Mom. I'm excited for this upgrade.
Thanks so much for this video! I am trying to decide between the HX and H95, and this was food for thought. :)
Yess a nice in depth review of these!

How are they holding up my friend?! Still sound incredible? What cons does it have after a year?
Fantastic review! A review that I've been waiting for! I have a pair of '18 H9i, so I came here super stoked! Little bit of a bummer that the ANC on the HX still affects the music. But since I've been listening to my H9i with ANC off for 3 years now, this is no biggie, but I wish the HX could do better. My biggest gripe with the H9i is that the touch pad is crap. Very inert, absolutely unpredictable and became affected by environmental conditions after just a few months of usage. Looking forward to trying out the HX's touchpad. It's also a slight bummer that the HX don't have the rotary dials like on the H95 (the grooves are already there...). Can't wait to try out how the HX sound! My H9i still holds up nicely sound wise, and I hope the HX can impress me. Looking forward to trying the HX and the PX7 side-by-side!
Good, thorough review. These look like a good option for people who want a more stylish option. I get the sense that a lot of people want a decent wireless headphone and aren't very concerned about ANC performance. I would like to see a decent wireless headphone with proper parametric EQ in the accompanying app.
Id like to suggest a correction. Most headphones *DO* have removable earpads. People just dont bother replacing them
Really great, thanks. If only more companies put a little bit more effort/budget into the looks of their headphones.
with 3.5mm cable and dac amp, will the sound quality be better?
Between this and focal elegia which one is better in terms of sound quality? ANC it doesnt matter to me, thanks
I'm surprised you found the clamping force to be OK. Mine are so loose they feel very insecure on my head and move around if I look down. A slightly annoying aspect to an otherwise almost perfect set of wireless headphones for the price.
How would you compare these to the first gen Sennheiser PXC 550?
how they compare to H95 in terms of sound quality ?
I found some other reviewers complaining about sound crackling issue at higher volume or high bass song... could u please confirm this? Thanks.
Do you use any neckband earphones? Are any of them worth recommending?

I know you reference their sound to Sony , Bose,, and Sennheiser. What happened to Bowers and Wilkins PX7, you said you like those headphones alot. You never make any reference to the Bower and Wilkins anymore. Why? Can you also cover Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal please.
Awesome review! Since the earpads are removable, aren't they replaceable? - Thanks :)

soundstage is better on the PX7 but the HX's bass does resonate a little more. but besides sound I think I prefer the HX's over the PX7 cause of comfort. The HX's are a little lighter and they have less clamping force. I just wish the HX's didn't have those round ear pads.
hiii im looking for a great headphones for working out, that provides maximum comfort and less head clack.. (hate beats coz theyre so hard on my head i get dizzy after using it a couple hours) so comfort is v important to me. can you pls reccomend me a good one? im thinking of B&O just bcoz of their built and soft pads

Yeah, the H95’s are pricey, but I’ve owned a number of ANC headphones and they really are the best for sound quality (balanced with a lean on the bass) and overall an incredible product. The aluminum case is a bit over the top for travel (as if anyone has been doing that lately), BUT, if you’re already spending $$$ on the h95’s what’s another €80 for the leather pouch? 🙄

About the bass you are absolutely wrong, as a H9 3rd gen owner myself, the EQ can bring the bass to a very hard hitting experience. If you want more than that, get beats by dre or headphones that only prioritizes bass (they all suck big time).
@matteventu

H9 3rd Gen (which I own too) have a slightly more pronounced V-shaped sound signature compared to the HX (a.k.a., H9 3rd Gen naturally have more bass). The HX are more similar to the H9i, which are brighter compared to H9 3rd Gen.

For gaming there are much better options at lower prices than the Beoplay Portal.
@mohamedahmed1023
3 жыл бұрын
@@jarjared3522 I know but this isn't just a gaming headset. I have the Logitech G Pro X Wireless and HyperX Cloud 2 Wireless. This is about segmentation. The Portal is for those who are looking for high end wireless headphones that can compete against the likes of Sony, BOSE, and B&W (I own the PX7) but also do some gaming. So it's ~$150 more than a high end headphone for premium build (aluminum and leather vs plastic) and wireless headset capabilities. if the BOSE NC700 or Sony 1000XM4 could double as gaming headsets, folks would pay $150 more for them.

@@mohamedahmed1023 It's noteworthy because at 500 dollars it has to justify itself and the Beoplay Portal does not deliver. Not even remotely. Why spend 500 dollars on that when I can spend just as much on the Hyper X Cloud 2 and Sony WH-1000XM4s which both perform BETTER?
Just got mine. The ear Cup controls don't work so I'll be returning them. Disappointed.
I got these headphones today, mic sounds way better when i try it. When i listen to your soundtrack it sounds submerged into water
Hx vs h95?
Hx vs AirPods max?
Don’t rub your thumb on the pads as hard as that! They will probably start to split round the sides like my h9 3rd gen have. It wouldn’t be so bad if they sold replacements at a reasonable price or in all the colours. They want 90 usd for the pads in my country and only have argilla bright (fawn). If the pads from my older models would fit I wouldn’t mind so much as I have h7 that have failed due to the sliding switch’s poor design that I could have used.
Are you planning on testing the Beoplay Portal?

Hi, any chance to review HUAWEI FreeBuds Studio? :D
The earpads and the price difference at my local store of 100 euros did make me choose the px7 over the hx. I didnt hear any difference in audio and anc. And the stupid . I own my px7 now a few months (i upgrades my live 650btnc) and i wish i did way earlier. Im enjoying concerts from home and finally its completely quiet and i hear nothing else than the music .
The oval ear cup was the main reason I did not buy the H95, it looks completely wrong. The folding mechanism on the H95 is also not very pretty. Last but not least, the style of the H9/HX has become a iconic symbol of B&O/Beoplay which many of us love and appreciate.
