Bentley Bentayga V8 2024 review: Azure | Does the new luxury SUV outdo Range Rover and Aston Martin?

The 2024 Bentley Bentayga has arrived in Australian showrooms, with the upper-large SUV getting a model year update that ushers in a couple of new variants. The S Hybrid focuses on performance, while the Azure Hybrid goes all-in on luxury. But that's not to say that either grade is lacking in either department.
Point being, the Bentayga is moving into the electrification era with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, taken from the mechanically related Porsche Cayenne PHEV. That said, the Bentley also remains available with a thumping 4.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V8 engine that's also shared with the Porsche.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Senior Journalist Richard Berry and his family of four spend a week living with the Azure V8 to find out just how well it blends performance and luxury in everyday life. After all, competition from the likes of the Aston Martin DBX is very stiff.

You made the review of one of the best cars available as exciting as going out shopping for gloves. Bentley were right, they should not let you review their cars you miss everything that makes a Bentley a Bentley. Try watching Harry's Garage for his review and I think you'll see where you see why.
Ive always seen the bentayga as luxury suv for the wealthly where they can drive and blend in in the city rather then a flashy car. Not for everyone. Silent wealth. Bentley for heavy weights. Old school market.

I really like his style.
Rear indicators are invisable and a saftey issue. When they manufacture a small yellow light surrounded by a brighter red all you see is the red.
Poor reviewers don't get the Bentley appeal. 😂😂

When an owner talks to the well known "Mansory" company and see what Mansory will do to the Bentayga, eyes will pop.
So Urus is similar in price? That will be my preference

the Urus feels cheap inside. It has a lot of plastic to save weight.
Agree with you. It's a shame it's so almost there but not quite. The GT and the flying spur are breathtaking, but the Bentayga design just does not hit the mark. Really wish it did though. Great review

Richard, one of if not the best reviews you have done. Not so much for what information you gave or the vehicle you reviewed, but the way you delivered it. Normally you can be a little too extreme but in this review, nailed it 👏
Buy the Audi Q7 or BMW X7. This is $100,000s of profit based on a VW platform.

I do not find it beautiful at all, and if I had to choose between it and the Toyota Century, I would choose the Century without hesitation. We understand the interior, details, insulation, and comfort. But I don't think that I will sit on the sidewalk with the rest of the cars. The exterior of the car I have seen since I was born in this world, I think that is enough.
A very expensive London Black Cab. Nope!

Poor infotainment system. Bentley should look at some of the Chinese car infotainment systems. I'm sure they will pick some ideas from there. The whole rear needs a change.
