    My friend works for Bentley. One time I was visiting him, and he said he would collect me from the airport. Picture my surprise, when I strolled out of the terminal to see a Bentley Arnage waiting for me. He said he had to do some "calibration testing ". Well, switch off the ESP, and yes I can confirm it does 0 to 60 in 5 seconds. The glorious incongruity of coming off an economy class flight to leather and wood supercar luxury remains a highlight of my motoring life

    +Stephen Lediard The Mulsanne is a true Bentley. It's the flagship, and the only car in the range which doesn't share it's platform with a Volkswagen, and the only car that carries on the tradition of being largely hand crafted, and carrying that 6.75 V8. Additionally, it's the first Bentley saloon in decades that doesn't also serve as a Rolls-Royce, making the Mulsanne plenty Bentley. And if the styling isn't your favorite, Mulliner can change that to a personal specification.

    I think this aged so much better than later Bentley models. Maybe it's the passing of time that skewed perception, but it no longer looks too vulgar. Just a little bit vulgar, and quite elegant. AND. Since all the football players have moved on to newer Bentleys and Audis normal people can buy this without fear of being laughed at. Interestingly enough, they drop in price like there's no tomorrow. Granted, you will spend thousands on repairs every time a tiny switch stops working...but these have a potential to be collectible classics very soon.

    @Riles07 Yeah, American car industry is at its very peak. Besides, when Americans want cars with STYLE, they go for EUROPEAN cars. I don't mean to say American cars are bad, but they tend to be sort of generic. And that's the point of this video right here. Arnage is not the fastest, though it's fast, doesn't handle perfectly, it handles very well, etc. BUT, all that's not the point of this car. It's got spirit, style, it's unique. When you want a car like that, you usually think EUROPEAN.

    How can anyone call this garbage? Garbage is your full robotics assembly-line cars. If the screw didnt sit well? Jam it in anyway. Remember, Bentley is about a hand built work of art BY people who love what they do and FOR people who have those tastes but are DECADES away from needing a cane or walker,lol.

    From the age of six my father had Bentleys. And, I have 16 mm film to prove it. First he had an R type, then, wait for it, and R type continental of which only about 230 were made. After that, S and T type, followed by Silver Shadow and one spirit. I was driving these new machines form the age of 18 onwards as I used to 'borrow' them in in the middle of the night and go for spins around rural Northumberland, uk. That was really fun. Not another car in sight. My father was a consulting engineer not a commercial car dealer. He drove 100 K a year visiting his work sites. I would say the Arnage T more than withholds the true Bentley tradition.

    A Bentley is not mean't to be a track day car, why would it need a locking diff?? The power is just to propel in a straight line.

  • @iamstd2

    @iamstd2

    Even in a straight line you would want a locking diff to get the wheels to grip. Otherwise you just sit there doing a one-wheel burnout and now you have uneven tire wear.
