    This is a great comparison between the two colors. There was one pic that you showed in the video...I believe it was Pale Oak and it was a sunny bedroom. My eyes definitely saw yellow and I thought oh hell no! I think color consultation is a great idea.

    Heck yes to Paint People design services. Probably will be too late for choosing a replacement color on my shoddy painted cabinets from last year. I bought a gallon of paint, but had 16 paint boards before I narrowed it to one last weekend. I feel your clients' pain. 😆 Hard to find a dusty midtone masculine blue that's not too dark or too light for a poorly lit master bath with Modern Gray walls.

    I'm interested in your design guide service. I have an open concept, modest, 1909 New Englander near the ocean in southern Maine. It still has the wrap around porch roof so the light varies but it's generally rather dim. I'd like to brighten the house up with a light and warm color. My style is side of the road, thrift shop, vintage. OK, we'll call it eclectic. The current wall color is Monroe Bisque which was not a good choice. I've had a crap year and I need some lightening and brightening. Thank you! I love your channel.

    Painted our house Pale Oak and although I LOVE it in our west facing rooms and in the evening in the East facing rooms, it looks quite peachy during mid day in our east facing rooms and I can’t stand it. It can also pull a lot of pink when we have our dining room light on. We are on the hunt for a colour to repaint our east facing rooms.

I want a lighter colour in my entry way and hallway as there is very little natural light here and can't decide between classic gray and pale oak. I will have maple floors when the reno is done. Which of those two colours would go better with edgecombe gray please?

    This may not be the height of trendiness right now but could you do a video on warm golden yellows, particularly mid to deep tones? I love yellow but it's super tricky to pick the exact right shade. Alternate request, could we explore tone ranges? I'm a huge sucker for jewel tones and muted tones. Both tend to compliment vintage styles in different ways.

    I watch this video at 11:00 last night and switched from classic Gray to pale oak. My painter hadn't bought the paint yet thankfully. Well it's up on my wall now and I didn't want anything too absent of color so that's what made me go for pale oak. I love it it's beautiful andm kind of a vague complex color that you can't quite define which I really like. It reminds me of abalone in a way just lighter

    Update: After looking at this for a while, I am liking it less and less. It looks dull and dreary and has no life to it. I will be having it repainted for sure with something more uplifting. Yikes, sometimes you need to live with something for a few days to realize.

    @@k4climate420 sure. The room is 12 by 14 and has two windows together and then there's a joining bathroom with no windows. The room is on the dark side. The exposure is Southern. I have abalone on my other bedroom walls in an extremely feminine room and I absolutely love it so go figure. That one is a Northern exposure. I don't know what it is but the pale oak in the extra bedroom is so very dreary so I am having it repainted either coming cream or lemon chiffon. How's that for a switcheroo? I love yellow and as long as it's not bright it works just like a neutral only it has a uplifting vibe.

    @@1010divajap Thanks for the update! I just bought a gallon of pale oak but haven't painted yet. Now I'm a bit nervous. I'm planning to use it for my living room and dining room which are both south facing and get a lot of sunlight. I had previously painted them a really light cool white. It basically looks like white paint for trims. After living with such a bright light color for almost a year, my eyes would feel strained and uncomfortable on sunny days because of how bright the room gets. I love the light bright airy feel but my eyes get tired often.

  • @1010divajap

    @1010divajap

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@hiuyitsun5012 Well, funny thing is the more I looked at it, the less I liked it. I think that it's because the furnishings in my daughter's room are not particularly defined or that interesting. So it looks like nothingness to me. If elegant items were put in the room with the Pale Oak, I think it would take on that elegance. But if you don't want bright, this may be a good choice for you. It is very subdued and has that vague quality that these grieges sometimes have. I like more of a clearly defined neutral. Probably I would have preferred the gray, but you know what happened? She hated it so much that I repainted it a very light creamy yellow, which was what she wanted. The room looks so much more happy with the yellow. So there's the whole story. I am not a greige person, I guess! If I had to pick something vague I'd probably pick one of those bluey, green grays. Best of luck with your project. I think it will be good o the eye, but I have to say Abalone is a lot prettier and a little more feminine in a very subtle way.
