I discovered Ngaio Marsh 50 years ago. I have read all of her books several times over. This was just wonderful. Highly highly recommended!!
One of my favorites by Marsh. Benedict does an great work narrating.
I have read this book multiple times, but truly enjoyed listening to Cumberbatch's reading it. He has an incredible talent for voices and expression via tone. I will listen to every one of his readings.
Absolute corker of a story, very well read indeed. Brilliant Author.
Great story and narration but you need to have a serious talk with whoever did the captioning.

So many errors! This is not a good way to learn English.

The captioning is done by a Speech-to-Text bot. To be more correct, the bot would have to introduced to all of the voices used by Cumberpatch and corrected when it made an error so the bot could learn the speech patterns as well as knew words.

Yeah. Never knew the Vietnamese enjoyed waltzing. 🤷🏻♀️ Live & learn!
Ty!! I love Inspector Alleyn! And who else could read it so Devine as Mr Cumberpatch?? Murder and mayhem with just a touch of sweet romance!!
I didn't want the story to end. Thank you so much 🎉
Highly engaging story and equally engaging dramatic presentation.
Thank you, so enjoyable on a very cold morning in December.
I’m going to have to listen to these again to get the convolutions straight 🤷♀️
This was a great story! Unbelievable narration😮. I am going to go look for more stories that Benedict has narrated on KZread.
I have listened to both your posts by this author and Benedict Cumberbatch and they are excellent. I really enjoyed them both. Any more ? I hope so. Thanks again. I have subscribed 👏👍

@@Learn-Relax-Sleep amazing, i'm gonna subscribe too, thankyou's from Belgium!
As an audio read by Cumberbatch this is really good. A joy to listen to with one's eyes firmly closed. However, as an English-learning tool with subtitles it is absolutely dreadful!
Sweet, thank you
Excellent.
great stuff.... but whomever is writing the words out, doesn't appear to know English very well, nor be a good listener/ speller. Or something. But luckily, I am both, lol! And can figure it out. For example: it's not "freesome" but "frisson", which is actually, French but used multilingually. To indicate a shiver of pleasure. Etc. Perhaps, there's someone to redo this script? Not I. Retired.
That ending was a little too neat for me, but thats the era I suppose.
Love this author ! Better than Christie !

No one is better than Agatha Christie
I couldn't be parked? My ears agreed with the caption. Something Brit, or something 1939?
I appreciate the upload, and Benedict Cumberbatch is always a joy. However... I assume the captioning is a) intended to help those with literacy/hearing problems and b) computer generated. It would take, at most, the running time of the video to proof read and correct at least the egregious errors. Some of them are so bad they're accidentally amusing but would be extremely confusing to ESL or hearing impaired readers. I noticed at least twice negatives changed to assertions, which actually would confuse the plot. All these errors spoil the enjoyment of reading, and don't help those trying to improve their literacy. As I said though, the narration was greatly enjoyable. Thank you.

Edit...also since every character is clearly enunciated, I suggest you need a better quality voice to script program

I disagree. As an audiologist & parent of hearing impaired child, we enjoyed this presentation. However, everyone is different. We are looking for similar readings. Thanks. My son wants to add this: 😊
Captioning drove me nuts
.
There is no end. You will not know who did it. What a waste.

That was the end of the story, that is how it ends
