    Woaw. Thanks alot. Been stock on figuring out the rotation of the bend deformer for a week now. But you cleared my frustrations in 9 minutes. Thanks for the good tutorial.

    Hi ! thank you for the tuto !! :) My only concern is that when I rotate the bending object, it bends ALL the segments of my cube which does not produce a folding carpet at the end :/ I'm using the R23 version of C4D. :(

    i dont know how thats happening cus this should be quite simple. but anyway make sure your bend deformer is well align to the object the way you want it to bend and also make it a child of the object.

    I know this reply is coming in 1 year later but I think it’ll be helpful for anyone who stumbles on this tutorial. This happened to me while trying to deform or plan or a square here’s the solution Before you make the object the parent of the bend deformer, under the rotation “HPB” make the coordinates “0,0,-90” then press “APPLY” Then make the object the parent of the bend deformer then increase the strength. It should work now. I think the rationale behind it is you might want to bend a plane without having to deform as per during animation and that would save you the stress of doing rotation and position. So to actually bend it you need to rotate the deformer -90 on the Z axis

    @@karikakahuate the fit to parent basically transform the size of the deformer to fit the object(parent) so if you dont need it to fit to the object then change the size of the deformer again. or if you want to change it in a setting point during animation the you have to keyframe the size

    that is quite easy. just go to the bend attribute manager and in the basic tab you just change the 'visible in Editor' from default to off. but in a case where you have several deformer and you dont want the to show in your view port you can click on the filter tab right on top of the view port and in the dropdown menu deselect deformer. with that no deformer will show in the viewport

    Have a good day, do a detailed lesson on how to bend what to pay attention to why it does not bend but turns, my plane does not bend but is boiled I can't do anything.I have been suffering for 3 weeks now but I could not bend the plane

  • @pixelaffair

    @pixelaffair

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks you. But the reason your plane could be turning may be bcos there is not enough segments or the orientation of the bend so check that👍🏾

    I've the same problem and bend deformer works with plane only through any field e.g. Linear Field. But you can use thin cube instead of plane :) it is more convenient rather than fields

    if I put UV texture the uv doesn't bend any solution for this?

  • @pixelaffair

    @pixelaffair

    2 жыл бұрын

    If change the projection UVW mapping in the material tag to any other mapping you will have to right click on the material tag and generate UVW coordinates. But if it’s a primitive object then you may want to try the pin/stick texture tag
