Ben Wallace's First Return to the Palace as a Chicago Bull

February 25, 2007 - Former Detroit Pistons All-Star center Ben Wallace returned to the Palace and received a mixed response from the hometown fans in attendance. Wallace then went on to score 6 points, grab 8 rebounds and block 2 shots as his new team, the Chicago Bulls, came up just short in a 95-93 loss. Chris Webber had 21 points and 9 rebounds for the Pistons.

I remember when this men leave Detroit... He left bec Joe Dumars wanna give gim 4 mln per season... He was 4 x DPoY, Champ, back-to-back in finalas and 2000-2006 conference finalas... This was a JOKE... Ben transfor Bulls and Cavs from bottom on DEF to TOP 5 in season and even better in PO. LeBron Cavs lose to Celtics with KG after 7 games and this Cavs team have best D on this PO... This say allot how much inpact Ben have od side of D edit I never hate him... He deserve 60 mln per 5 years... Is a Joke 2 years later ppl like Joahim Noah or Tyson Chandler or Dampier(Dallas) od Eddy Curry(Fat boy) make more money then him...

In Detroit, they'll boo you if you leave of your own volition. They booed Jack Morris, Sergei Fedorov, and Dennis Rodman upon their returns. They would have booed Grant Hill, too, had he played in the 2000-2001 season.

Ben Wallace's contract expired following the 2006 season. He was in his early 30's by then and showing some signs of gentle decline. The Chicago Bulls then swooped in and broke the bank, signing Wallace to a 4-year, $60 million deal, over $10 million beyond his expected value (and $12 million more than the Pistons offered). His production dropped off pretty significantly over the course of that new deal. In hindsight, Joe Dumars was probably wise not to match that $60 million figure, though his absence stung regardless.

I live in Chicago, lived in Detroit for awhile. When you think of international cities, you don't think of San Francisco. It widely known in the techworld is all since it's boom in popularity in the 80s and after. But SF *is not currently internationally known or in the past with rich history* like Chicago, Detroit or NY. SF is still a baby in comparison to popularity or history.
