Ben van Dijk - bass trombone New Lebedev version
Concerto in one Movement - Alexander Lebedev
Today I post a new version of this bass trombone evergreen and mostly asked for solo piece for orchestral auditions.
In 2003 I recorded this concerto for the first time, • Ben van Dijk bass trom...
in a completely different interpretation.
Because I used for today’s version the Tomoko Sawano play along track, this version more a less uses the tempo’s of Stefan Schulz’s interpretation from his famous Berlin concert.
I thought it might be interesting to hear the same player in the same piece with 20 years difference in 2 completely different interpretations. For me it was a nice challenge to record this once again.
I hope you will enjoy!
Other great interpretations and favorite version of myself of this beautiful compositions are those from Brandt Attema, Randall Hawes and Stefan Schulz but I'm sure there are many more.

Wow! Very nice. Listening to this recording is like eating a very rich pie or pudding! Just superb! I also really like the interpretation of tempos used in the piece.
Perfect Ben
You're an amazing player. I have listened to your 2003 recording for months on end to match your tone. I love how you make a bass sound so elegant and majestic. If you have time, could you link the piece so I can acquire it, this is something I have trying to get my hands, please and thank you, have a good day sir.
Loved being able to follow along with music.❤
What mouthpeice and trombone do you use?

Bravo!
That notation is definitely not what he's playing. What a confusing mess. Maybe good for Piano. (no offense to pianos). Or maybe I'm bad at following. I played this before, and the music is not helpful for what I know (The no key doesn't help). (It's gorgeous playing tho)
