I am so happy to find an extended interview that actually talks about the film, and not "what is it like being a director/why Kristen Wiig?" We have substance here. There's not that many on KZread. I really enjoyed the movie-- the aesthetics were breathtaking and it had really great, on-point comedic moments. It had a lot of things that a good movie should have. It wasn't cohesively "a good movie", but because it had so many great aspects, it was definitely a good movie.

Dear Ben stiller, I recently lost my dad. This is my favorite movie. One day... I hope to get to thank you in person. But until then I'll just leave a comment on this video on KZread. Thank you for this movie. It has changed the course of my life and it's wonderful to hear you talk about it. Much love and appreciation.

I've watched this film at least once a year since release. It's not just a movie to me anymore, it's a beautiful meditation... one that makes me utterly grateful for the past, quietly somber but thankful for the present, and unyieldingly frightened & optimistic for what might come. Thank you, Ben, and every single person that had a hand in this film.

Ben Stiller outdid himself this time....movie was better the 2nd time around! Great script...everything is all tied/connected together...no loose ends.

Love this interview. This is great! Elvis Mitchell asks great questions and lets Ben Stiller speak his process - that's what I want to hear not the voice and opinions of the interviewer!!!

VERY INSPIRING! I love the movie... Ben Stiller you made this movie so perfect... even African American loved it; very understandable and people who have dreams and can't go or not possible... it is like a fresh breath... it is so cool. A stoic man in a way but a normal person... everybody have this imagination. Love Ben Stiller being an underdog but turn out to be good. the final of Walter Mitty is so cool. Were inspired. especially the skateboarding.... my children are borders (they are adults-- they still have their skates (snowboard and surfboards).

A beautiful, poignant, unique and inspiring movie that will always hold a place on my favorites list. I'm literally an analogue kid who still shoots film so the whole sub plot regarding Sean O'Connell resonates with me. But but even discounting that it's still an underappreciated classic which holds up well to repeated viewings. Ben Stiller (who comes across as a normal self effacing guy in this interview) is a hugely underrated actor and director.

I really liked the points Ben Stiller made about Walter's family. One of the things that annoys me in stories is the Completely Independent Protagonist, the hero who can jet off to the Himalayas or Greenland without leaving any responsibilities behind. It's unrealistic. I like the idea that Walter jetted off to Greenland, but somebody still had to retrieve the family piano, somebody had to move his mom into his apartment, and he still had responsibilities to his family while he was gone. It makes his growth and success just that much more enriching when he had these additional and completely normal Everyman challenges to deal with on top of his heroic journey.

Great interview. Nice subjects, we can see the movie on several angles and that is the quintessence of a film like that. Thanks for uploading this video, it made my day in deed.

Great insight into the film, and how good is the interviewer! He's obviously a student of film and has a real grasp on the film himself. Feels like it's really done his homework
