Hopefully you can get Ben back for a Spoiler Mode. His insight on the world of FFXVI is just as deep or even deeper than the Active Time Lore system. From explaining Clive's inner turmoil dealing with being mocked as a failure by his mother. To explaining why he is hesitant in building relationships. Ben has a very unique perspective on the game as a whole. After people have had time to experience the full game I feel like he can even expound a bit more on the nuances of the games story and characters. Plus the man is just super wholesome and humorous. It really felt like he was a friend chilling out with the crew.

He also added a bunch of extra worldbuilding knowledge that wasn't stated in the ATL either. Like how the Eikons are basically WMDs because of the amount of collateral damage they're capable of; the reason FFXVI happens at this point in Valisthea's history is because every nation has at least one Dominant now, which is rare, but also meaning tensions have never been higher. Also loved the dynamic he had with the crew. It helps because he's not only a massive gamer and FF geek, but also a fan of the show itself, so it's not like your run-of-the-mill celeb who's not really invested in befriending the interviewers and is just going through the detatched motions of a press tour.

I love how much of a fan Ben is of gaming and the Allies. I hope he’s able to come back for a podcast after the game releases. He seems great.

I have never heard a line delivery like that before. It was beyond rage, a man drowning in a perfect mix of loathing and despair. I had heard Ben delivers a fantastic performance, but I didn’t really believe it until I heard those lines.

Those lines are stuck with me, I can hear it in my head whenever I think about it. I've never heard such powerful delivery, the screen is black and we can only hear him and we feel this pain. Glorious.

I was on board with Ben from the very first trailer for this game, when at the end Clive says "I'll kill you, if it's the last thing I do." That line informed me enough what kind of game FF16 was going to be back then in 2020, and I was all in. I'm glad he seems to be a really good dude who is a genuine fan of the series. I have a feeling Clive is going to be one of my favorite FF characters, and he'll be a big reason why. I hope Easy Allies can get him back for a spoilercast in a month or two to discuss the game more in-depth.

Man, Ben is such a chill, nicest, pleasant guy! I know the demo sold the game big time lol, but having such a positive hype-guy represent the game on the net and play the lead is SUCH a good game-seller too. I would absolutely LOVE for him to come back for spoiler-mode (and to see Huber's reaction to the rest of the story/demo). Clive and Jill under the stars gave me super Cloud and Tifa in Nibelheim vibes, I'm almost convinced it's somewhat inspired. And adult Jill even has a dolphin tail. Oh and btw, To Zanarkand absolutely deserves #1 😆

Don't pre-order often, but that demo did it. I paid the impatience tax and not waiting for a sale. Haven't liked a FF since 9, but this is going to be special game I think and I liked the combat even a bit more than DMC5.

I dont think anyone expected the demo and the game in general to be as amazing as it was. This is the most excited I've been for a FF game since FFX. I'm glad it's getting wide spread acclaim.

I appreciate your comment, its true though, haven't like any after 9.. I mean I like 10 and 12, but its just different, its not like "liking" something during Gold Standard of FF during Squaresoft era, 9 is the final and last for me, thanks for saying 9.. and yes, I love DMC5 too lol.

Yeah same, after all of the BS the AAA game industry has gone through I refuse to pre-order most if not all titles now... But FF16 is going to be a very rare exception to that.

This was legit the highlight of my day - Ben is an absolute treasure.

This was such a treat. I love that Ben is a FF fan and how much interest he shows in the production of the game. From what we've seen he's done an incredible job. I don't like harping on about awards but if he doesn't at least get a nomination for best performance something would be amiss. Excited for Huber to experience the rest of the prologue lol

Ben seems like such an awesome down to earth dude and that fact that he's such a huge Final Fantasy fan and just a big time gamer and JRPG fan makes it even better. This is one of my favorite videos I've watched from Easy Allies.

Much like the Lord of the Rings extended edition, I really hope a year down or so they come out with a commentary track patched into the audio for New Game+, kind of like Half Life 2 (or was it Portal?). I would love to have a dev team track and a voice cast track. Force me to play through the game three times lmao. Either that, or I hope they come out with like an hour long video talking about development behind the scenes and an on-the-couch cast reacting to different scenes from the game.

I don't think I've ever been actually sold on a game by its demo until now. The only Final Fantasy game I've liked prior is the Remake of VII. I've tried X, XIII, and XV and couldn't get into any of them. I went back and bought the original Final Fantasy VII when it came out on Switch because I always heard it was among the best in the series. It didn't age well, so playing it for the first time in the late 2010s was probably not allowing me to assess it fairly. So I was probably going to skip FFXVI. This demo feels like a Sony published single-player game, though. The action feels right. It doesn't have that floaty JRPG-trying-to-do-action jank that FFXV had. Its probably gonna piss off a lot of people who like FF the traditional way, but it's a game I'm buying day one now.

The "traditional" ff argument falls apart when you realise, that each game is actually experimental in it's own way. FF 2 had skyrim like leveling system, 3 introduced jobs, 4 introduced ATB, 7 dropped party to 3 people and cropped any concept of jobs thanks to the materia system, anyone could be anything a physical fighter or mage, 10 introduced dynamic turns and mid combat party swapping, 11 was an MMO, 12 wasnt even a real turn based system anymore but something similar to xenoblade just with visible bar between attacks, 13 was mix between action and turn based where you could order a character to make a set of actions according to available ATB bar before resetting, 15 was action combat but very simple but it was first ever open world. previously open world or overworld was just a very big empty map that had occasional random combat encounter and was a way to get into linear story zone or city. Magic of main ff series is that there is so much of it even if you don;t enjoy this particular one there are 15 other you can try, also older versions usually are released with cheats like double exp/money so you can just run throught them without bothering with level grinding etc. I'm happy you enjoy the game as it is now, i certainly am but i also loved the other games in the series, and am a big fan of Devil May Cry and NieR and active player of FF 14 so 16 is like a match made in haven for me.

It’s a crime against video games and people everywhere that Ben couldn’t stay until the end of the demo so that we all got to witness Huber’s reaction. Finger crossed for a spoiler mode together!
