I'm gonna keep pestering until.... Maybe Ben can go over this game I've just found on KZread. A real treat! The Master of Defense playing an offensive juggernaut- Boris Spassky v Anatoly Karpov in a Kings Gambit must win game for Spassky. See YT video: "World Cup Chess 1982 - GM Boris Spassky v GM Anatoly Karpov" It doesn't get better than this!! 😳 (AND as if that weren't good enough, both Spassky and Karpov analyze the game move by move starting at about move 10.)

4:53 Cant he play Qe6+ Rf7 Nc7 forking? if you play Qc8 he has Rd7 keeping the threat of Nxa8 and Rxe7 ?

    (just for fun without computer) 4:44,4444 - what happens after Nxe7 a) ... Kf7 Qd5+ Kxe7? Re1# ? Too late for resign? OK Nxe7 b) ... Kg7 Qc7 Rf7? Rd7 Rc8? Nf5 gxf Rxf7+- OKOK Nxe7 c) ... Kh8 seems playable for black. Only traps for white. Did I miss something?

you're right, after Kf7 Qd5+, black doesn't take the knight but can play Kg7 and the game just continues with white down the exchange

@@alexfrasca673 Now I checked it with the computer. My line b) is not correct. The queen helps. So it's possible to play Kg7 and after Qc7 Rf7. Rd7 is no thread. Complications, which don't go well for white.
