Ben Nevis

Earlier this month the lads had a trip up Ben Nevis, my two sons Jamie & Nathan and my good friends Paul, Mick & John. Paul & Nathan went via The CMD arete and the rest of us went up the tourist path. It was my 3rd time up there and have done The CMD arete before with Paul so it was good for him to take Nathan this way adding two more Munro's to his tally. The rest of us enjoyed a slog through the clag to the summit with lots of other hardy souls. I never took any video and only a few photos but still great memories to look back on.

Nice to see you out with our kid's again 👍. Glad it cleared up a bit on your way down from the summit . We were very lucky when i took my son Nathan and my mate David up last October. We had rain and clouds in the morning. But we were lucky it cleared up when we hit the summit for an hour. But clouds on the way down again. First time i had ever used my drone 🤣 . Alan 👍

Cheers Alan in a way it was good it was low cloud as I don't think son number 1 Jamie would have gotten up as he would have seen how far up it was lol. Nathan is more into mountains and went via the CMD arete with my mate Paul. Good to reach the top with them all though I never took any video footage but got a good few photos. Atb. Mick.

Thanks Simon. I wouldn't say blasted up exactly 😄 but yes the lads did ok considering it was Mike's, John and Jamies first Munro. Third time for me and it doesn't get any easier. Paul and Nathan did well too coming the CMD route considering the conditions. Snowdon next for the gang later this year. Take care. Mick

@@SetForAdventures Probably the Rhyd Ddu path as I've been up before that way and it gives a touch of excitement near the top but not too much to put the lads off. We had a great cloud inversion too that day. Paul and Nathan will probably go Grib Goch depending on conditions.

Some good photos there Mick, I've still got the Ben to do... one of these days. Who got to the top first though? Paul and Nathan or your good self and friends? Take care, Alice

Cheers Alice. Nathan and Paul started an hour before us as I had to drive them to The North Face car park at Torlundy for them to do the CMD route. We arrived at the top more or less at the same time mainly due to Jamie having a bit of a panic attack as we neared the top and needed coaxing lol to carry on. He doesn't like heights and even though we could see nothing it's still a bleak spot and the sense of scale can be daunting. Paul and Nathan made good time especially in the conditions and it's a lot tougher route than the plod up the tourist path. It was Paul's 4th time over the ridge so Nathan was in good hands otherwise he would have come with us. The lads did well though considering it was Mike's, John's and Jamie's first Munro and several beers were supped that night. Take care. Mick.
