My teacher had me do essentially this years ago. Fixed the pull, pull-hook, and pull-slice.

The 2 o'clock nose position was strongly emphasized by legendary instructor Alex Morrison in his 1932 classic, " A new Way to Better Golf." I believe he said if you pointed your nose properly and kept it there throughout the swing, a good shot is almost inevitable, and without the nose positioned properly it's impossible to hit a good shot.

Not enough stress upon maintaining a gentle focus upon the ball throughout the golf swing. Back in the 1970’s I bought Hogan’s Five Lessons The Modern Fundamentals of Golf. My front cover shows Hogan with a seven iron at the bottom of the swing. The question is, is the ball already struck or is he about to hit the ball. It shows the swish of the club head. I believe it depicts Hogan watching the swish of the club head.

I've been watching all your videos Chris and incorporating them in my swing, striking it great but still pulling a few and my divots pointing left with the wedges. Hoping this video with the head will put that right. Excellent insights into the Hogan swing Chris 😊

Seems like this is what you are in fact doing by tilting more to the right at setup with the driver- keeps the head behind the ball at impact. Right?

Isn’t this the standard setup for the Stack and Tilt method? Weight is forward with head tilted slightly toward the right shoulder

Hey Chris, new subscriber here. Question: before you rotate your head backward, do you first cant your head down to the following edge of the 90°, such that you're doing both rotating head rearward AND tilting down? Or are you saying to rotate your head rearward INSTEAD of canting the head down?

  • @NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan

Chris -I assume this ear move pertains to the 3/4 & full swing? On short chip & pitch shots the move would be more level I assume. Thanks.

I think it’s fair to say my short game is above average. I constantly work on it. I’ve been trying out this head tilt and I have noticed a slight improvement. That’s me though. Give it a try and see what happens with you. FWIW, I use Mr. Hogan’s right hand grip on my putter, taking “the pinchers” totally out of the process. One of the best things I’ve ever done.

At first, I watched this and thought to myself "come on! Positioning the head like that will change my ball-striking? Whatever!" Chris is right. 😮‍💨 A different way to think of it, is to imagine looking down along the "7.5 degree" line/wall (see one of Chris' other videos), backwards or behind you. Everything follows this imaginary line; the start of the backswing, the downswing, head position, ball contact, and it FLIES off the clubhead. At least that was my experience. 😁

Is this possible! I tried this and hit 6 lasers in a row. It seems like that had back anchored my swing and gave me more room to swing into out. TBH it was like my swing path didn’t have a choice. I’m going to wait 24hrs of experimenting before I lose my wits.

The right eye is locked into the top of the right shoulder… your nose moves around the axis of the spines turn… makes sense. I wonder if you could apply this to horseshoes, bowling or soft ball… perhaps baseball too… interesting

The trail ear causes OTT... ROFL This has to be the most ridiculous golf instruction ever... Thank you for the laughs. Truth is the trapezius of the trail shoulder is what causes OTT. Simple keep the trap muscle down and leave your ears alone...LOL
