Ben Böhmer Track from Scratch
Музыка
In this video I'll be creating a FULL Progressive House track from scratch in the style of Ben Böhmer (Anjunadeep). I gave myself 1 hour to finish the track and make it more interesting for you ;). You can download the entire Ableton Live 11 project file & samples I used in this video using the links below. Enjoy!

I've honestly watched hundreds if not thousands of tutorials like this on KZread and yours is by far one of the best. Clear presentation, no fluff, your production knowledge is clearly strong. I've been producing in Ableton for maybe 8 years now and I learned new techniques within 2 minutes of this video. Great job! Instant like and subscribe.

Thanks a lot! Though the video is apparently not for a total noob, I decided to start learning music production with repeating all your actions and trying to understand why are we doing this. This took me 3 days with this beautiful track, but now I know how to use abelton and understand the concepts of the tools we use. I would be really glad to watch a video series about different basic things in sound and music production, like how reverb works, and what does ping pong button changes in delay etc
Great job! Thankyou for inspiration! Learnt a lot from this video

Absolutely well received ;) Finished the vid now and I'm pretty blown away with how much you did in under 1hr. Out of interest, I'm assuming you wouldn't necessarily use the stock compression/EQ/Reverb in a finished production you were going to release?

@@marcophez6907 Thanks, for watching the entire video! That's so kind! Hope you took some value out of it :). When I give myself a time limit I tend to work faster. I don't always approach music like this, but I found that to be a nice way to make a video. And yes, I love Ableton stock and use the EQ/Comp/Reverb in most of my own tracks. Sometimes I break that barrier and try out new third party VSTs.

Thanks so much for the comment! Yeah, I tend to mix and master my own tracks. It’s just something that I’ve gotten used to over the years. I feel like mixing makes up so much of the tracks soul which is why I never liked outsourcing it ( and yes I spent some extra time refining the mix ;)) Mastering on the other hand is something I’d definitely let someone else with a neutral understanding of the track do.
how do I get rozzer, it says its not compatable with my live version (live 11)

Epic tuturial, I have a question though, I see many people use the glue compressor to glue drums together : I never understood what it means ? Technically what happens when you "glue" elements together ? Is it to even the volume of the various elements in a way to make them have the same volume?? This thing I have been doing it for 2 years but never understood what exactly the glue compressor do
@lotustunesacademy
Жыл бұрын
Wow wonderful question. The glue compressor reduces the overall dynamics in the audio that you are compressing in a way that results in a sound which feels more „together“ instead of every element playing for itself. Technically speaking the compressor increases the volume of the quietest part and reduces the volume of the loudest part. This again results in a more „glued“ together sound. Imagine a drummer playing his drumkit. I bet you‘d want everything to sound like ONE kit, right? Not like the kick and snare are playing as individual instruments. That’s where the glue compressor comes in hand. Hope this answered your question!
@fumnyboy654

@@lotustunesacademy Thank you so much very clear ans fast answer. My problem is my ear are not enough developed to feel unglued drums compared to a glued drum kit .. I mean you could give me a drum bus in which are different drum elements, I am not able to judge whether it feels as one or not .. That's why when I use the glue, I don't feel a difference .. Well I guess I have to train myself and maybe it will develop more with time ( two years already and for me compression is still one of the concepts that I struggle the most with compared to other things : for instance pitches, chords, scales , reverb, chorus, flangers, distortion, resonance, Frequencies are things that I internalised very well , but compression is one of the things that I still can't grasp ... Anyways , thank you again and keep the good work .. I love what you do

Thanks so much for your kind words! I completely agree with you. Compression, as silly as it may sound was one of the hardest things for me to grasp and is still somewhat overwhelming considering the amount of different compressors and compressor types there are out there. I’d strongly recommend that you trust your feeling when it comes to compressing sounds. Do a lot of A/B tests and see what works best. Getting too I depth into the technicalities of compression might just confuse you more. Cheers. Hope I could help!
