Belgium, Beer & Bikes: Inside The Ridley Bikes Factory!

Have you ever wondered how a bicycle goes from an idea to something you can buy in your local bike shop? It’s a fascinating process & it's not often you can follow it from beginning to end all in one place, but with help from our friends at Ridley Bikes that's exactly what Manon is going to do!

It's really amazing that they can produce a bike in such a short time because I put my order in February for delivery in July and I am still waiting for my bike in November. Sort your customer service out Ridley.
Very interesting walk through of the process. I was a little confused though about how the decals could be applied before the coat of purple paint? Why did the paint not cover the decals?

I still have one of their 2011 X-Fire CX bikes…..I’ve repurposed it for gravel riding with a SRAM 1X drivetrain but kept the Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels because they’re fast and obnoxiously loud, slapped some Donnelly 32c tires on her for traction. Switched out the hardware to red anodized titanium bolts then attached som LOOK track pedals. I kept the Avid Shorty Ultimate canti’s because they work well. This bike absolutely refuses to die and takes whatever I throw at it. A true representation and fine testament of Ridley’s commitment to the production of a fine machine. Great video, love listening to you.
Love this video, thank you Manon and GCN!
As an owner of an Helium SL Team Issue I am glad that Manon got to ride and we got to see the Ridley factory.

Great film, the best yet Manon!
Come to Portugal and get to know the "CARBON TEAM" factory! They are a relatively new company that makes one of the lightest frames in the world and have the entire process in the same factory (including the carbon assembly)! They are one of the biggest companies in frame production in Europe. You will not regret!
Been racing an old Ridley X-Fire cyclocross bike in local gravel races for several years and what a great, quick and responsive frame
Very nice! Dream factory!
Great video! And a beautiful bike. 😀

Jochim said, the bikes are made in Europe and then Manon states the frames are molded in Taiwan. Some conflicting information it seems.

Nope. That's the world you live in - if the frame was painted and assembled in "country X" then it is labelled "made [usually "assembled"] in country X". The frame is just a component of a whole. That's the basics. There is a bunch of detail around the law though.
Just go my beautiful Kanzo Fast today, happy to see where it was painted !

Great vid Manon. As as ex car factory worker it's cool to see some of the production methods, and the pride people take in their work. Guessing the colour coat paint (purple) application over the decals is to have an even surface for the clear coat. I'd rather have the decal bump with the knowledge there was purple paint underneath!

Intriguing for a Ridley owner
The Ridley Noah Fast is one of my favorite bikes.
I love this type of videos from scratch to real bike
Just bought a Ridley Noah RS TT For $300 from FB Marketplace & it’s FULL carbon, I rode it for the first time & it’s the first time I rode a bike since I broke my tibia in 3 places from a motorcycle accident & I had a guy on a $12k Trek ask to buy it after I lapped him at the local park. I knew I had to figure out more about the bike . It’s has a HED 3 trispoke & a Zipp AeroDisc & it’s flat black 😊
I'm very envious Manon. Awesome brand and bikes. There are few brands I've not owned and I currently have a 4 year old Helium which I consider is equal to the very best and far superior to many.
Really nice ❤

Great video, and a beautiful ride Manon. I was scratching my head about why the purple was sprayed after the decals, but maybe that's the magic of those flip nano-particle paints? Nice to see custom paint and parts assembly but It would have been great to see the actual frame layup and manufacturing process either in-house or at the contract manufacturer in Taiwan. There are some pretty big differences in manufacturing processes that are good to know when choosing a new carbon bike. What distinguishes Ridley from anybody else? -- That's the question I want answered.
