Mika was actually talking to "the Michael" about the maneuver Schumacher did lap before the overtake. “It was natural that I went to talk to him after the race,” said Hakkinen in an interview. “I said: ‘You can’t push someone to the grass at 300kph. This is a life and death situation, use some common sense.’ He tilted his head and looked at me. ‘What did I do wrong?’ He didn’t say ‘sorry, I was too aggressive’. It was simply his driving style.”

I personally think this was the start of the downfall. The McLaren's were do much better than the competition that it made for incredibly boring racing. It got monotonous watching Hakkinen and Coulthard win all the time. No other car came even close to them.

This race was one for the ages.. It had all the ups and downs.. And Schumacher having to drive through standing water at parts of the circuit to cool his tyres because of degradation was something to watch. If he didn't have that issue, he probably would have won but we wouldn't have witnessed this iconic moment in F1.. Loved Hakkinen. He pushed Schumi a lot.. And the fights were unreal.. I don't know if we will ever see Schumi again. I only hope he recovers someday. Loved the documentary on Netflix about him. He is the GOAT in my book!
