Installing the Door for my TINY CABIN on Wheels - Off Grid Cabin on Wheels

Ойын-сауық

Part ten in my series showing how I built my Tiny Cabin on Wheels. In this video I install the solid wood dutch door as a custom fit for my tiny cabin.
The tiny off grid cabin I'm building is only 50 square feet in size. I'm building it in the style of a vardo caravan (probably one of the historically original types of tiny house on wheels). I'm building this off grid tiny cabin on wheels without any plans other than a rough sketch I did before starting the build.
Although I have a fair amount of woodworking experience, I've never built anything like a tiny cabin before. I thought creating a series might help viewers build their own or at least show what I did. Plus, I think it makes a pretty interesting video.
Here's a link to the video showing the build what I've done so far: • Building My Tiny Cabin...

    Hi Jason. I’m wondering how the upper part of the door opens. Is it just pushed out when you unlock the tie in piece? Since there isn’t a handle, how do you pull it back closed?

  • @TrailguidePictures

    @TrailguidePictures

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yeah just pull back and latch. I thought about adding hardware but it’s a small door and looked like it would be too busy.

    @TrailguidePictures is she thinking that all you would need to do to get in is push out the door hinge pins? isn't there a hinge that the pins have some kind of a screw in pin? I have a question: Would it be more weatherproof to have the siding covering the door frame and window frame even if you wanted to add an external frame?
