Schleswig DFO 2022
Back from a nice holiday in Germany, on the border with Denmark. Nice to see how many hedges, hedgerows or watercourses still separate the small fields. Wildlife clearly has many advantages here. Wild pheasants, hares and various duck species were therefore present in good numbers. The landscape allowed the game to maneuver cleverly. This made it a fair hunt that benefited the experienced wild. The inexperienced birds also worked well, and provided nice flights. They took good lessons with them for the future.
Special thanks to the rifle hunters, who do intensive management in their fields all year round. Trying to keep everything in balance. And let us enjoy for some days the result! Without their work and forbearance this would not have been possible. It was also nice to see how each rifle hunter discovered and appreciated falconry. And especially how much spectacle and unique moments we have been able to experience, without harvesting large numbers. It were pleasant days for all of us, in the field.
