Beinn a' Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich | Munro Bagging

Join Douglas on Day 1 of a 3 day trip to the Highlands! First up are the Munros of Beinn a' Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich. These two Munros offer a good mountain day, with great views of Glen Etive and Ben Cruachan - the latter being the destination for day 3 of the trip. The ridge between the two is pleasant with no difficulties although the final descent from Beinn Eunaich is unpleasantly steep.

Really enjoyed this video. I did this in April 22 on a sunny day but with a lot of snow still hanging around. Got some great views and photos of Ben Cruachan.

Thank you 😊 I really enjoy the days like you’ve mentioned, as long as you don’t get caught by an impassable snow patch 😦

It's a toss up between steep knobbly slopes on both Munros. I went up BE over open slopes and a twisty way down BaC. On reflection I think I'd ignore Walk Highlands on this route and stay on the Hydro track up as close to the bealach as poss and make a T shaped route heading up and back from there to the summits via the ridge in between. A bit more distance a bit less bother on the knees.

That’s an interesting suggestion James! I suppose the Walk Highland route at least makes it more of a circuit - I always find it nice to reduce the amount of “out and back” a route has. But then I do value my knees too 😂

Noted, but it does at least look different walking in the opposite direction😉. You can also drop SW off BaC using Stob Diamh as a bearing ending up at pt 564 and then head back. I scouted that out but then decided to go the knee punishing way! Looking fwd to yr upcoming posts and loving the balance btw the experienced and less experienced baggers (im somewhere in between!)
