Join the workshop: nataliefisher.lpages.co/webin...
Do you ever feel like you are being taken for granted or like being taken for granted at work is an issue for you or others? Being taken for granted at work is a big problem that many of my clients have, and being not valued at work is not something you need to suffer through. When you find yourself saying things like “my boss doesn’t value me” & “I’m not valued at work” This video will show you exactly how to deal when you don’t feel valued and how to feel valued immediately without anyone else validating you. I talk about How to feel valued at work and how it affects your quality of work and the way you show up, and when you feel “I am I being taken for granted” you are able to shift your mindset to start to give yourself the validation that you need. The video doesn’t just talk about being taken for granted but helps you see this in a whole new way so that you’re no longer relying on others to move forward or feel good.

***** Being taken for granted at work (how to feel valued) *****
If you are like me you really crave that validation at work, you want someone to say thank you, you want someone at work to say we couldn't have made it without you, that was amazing.
We don't want to admit that we want this, but most of us do want to feel valued at work.
In this video, I'll tell you how to feel value without the need of having to tell thank you for your job. I'll tell you how to feel validated just by using your brain.

It depends, however if you give extra efforts and they think it is nothing then that is a different thing. You chose to do another extra shift without overtime pay and it was nothing to the management . You cover things that others are not able to and it was nothing. You know you are good at things but management only sees others. I think that this is another scenario in which whatever you sacrifice for the company is not of any value. Im looking for another company because I know my value and I can start a fresh one and be a better worker but not within the same company. To br honest, within a short span of time half of our department resigned. Meaning it is not about my mindset anymore, it is about the management.

Employers don’t even realize that by not recognizing their employees, it frustrates the employee and in turn results in the employee holding back on their full potential. Like why would I go the extra mile 🤷🏽‍♂️

Hate to say it, this is all well and good, but in today’s society, as far as your job is concerned, no one cares. I know my value, and yet, people still don’t treat me like I do anything. Some roles are not valued at all.

Yes agree with validating yourself, but it can also be draining to work on a negative environment. Working with positive, good people who give you compliments or share your good work with others so you get exposure (and opportunities) goes a long way. Love how you ended the video (“I.e yes I am pretty good”) and pointing out your own accomplishments, and not waiting for validation from others empowers you to go where you will be valued. Yes, love this, you don’t need others to tell you you did a great job.

Because of egos. Management always sticks together and they want to keep the power at all costs. When employees are good at what they do it makes them nervous and they don't want you to feel good about yourself because they have to feel/think that they're better than you

Recently I’ve been feeling like this due to there’s a new guy in the team that the boss seems to praise and this new dude is kind of very inconsiderated and know-it-all type where it impacts me that the boss is so busy that I’ve been denied of my ideas and concerns. I just found that I have not listened to “any” music for the past 4 days or even play a game to cool down. It the became very hard for me to let go of the negative thoughts which impacts many parts of my life

This was an amazing video. I started a part time job with a small textile business. I have been doing amazing work for them but the owner literally says nothing what so ever. She'll ask me to do something, i'll do it amazingly, then its off to the next project with absolutely no coments. At first it really messed me up because I thought I was doing everything right...working like a mad person, getting glowing remarks from her clients, and yet absolutely nothing from the boss. So instead of feeling sad and waiting around for her to tell me thank you, or anything like that, I started to validate myself, get better at what I do, and ultimately realize my worth! I'm realizing the pleasure is in getting the work done the best way I can with or without her validation. Now I'm getting better at what I do, feeling more confident and excited to eventually move on to a company where I can grow that will pay me more!!!

What about being in an environment where most of the time the ONLY thing done is to point out your failures and NOT your successes? What about being somewhere where you are the ONLY person who did certain things that others couldn't do and there's a meeting, everyone is introduced except you?

  • @NatalieFisher

    @NatalieFisher

    2 жыл бұрын

Why are you in this environment? I have a podcast about valuing yourself which may shed some light onto why you are there. nataliefisher.ca/how-much-you-value-yourself/ It talks about accepting a job but it also goes for staying in a job where you are treated a certain way and staying there. IT's like staying in a relationship where your needs are not aknowledged, you're always made to feel like crap, why would you stay?

  • @yui1564

Interesting. I give my self validation but my work does not acknowledge my contribution. They tend to downplay it and often attribute success to someone else. I created an awesome PowerPoint and invited colleague to deliver presentation since we are teammates. The managers praised her for creating it. Then it became awkward when they realized I was the one to be given credit. Another situation where I brainstormed and helped someone come up with a concept. The project ended up being funded and my contribution downplayed to identifying the title. I know my value and pat myself on the back. I am frustrated by being overlooked all the time.

It is obvious that I watch this video because I feel worthless. I have been teaching online for a school and I not received feedback. Zero. nothing, Goose-egg. In fact, all get a list of demands. It been half a year and I am 2000 miles away from them. I take the time for the students to Zoom with me so I I don't want the excuse that I am not nearby. I am expected to give detailed feedback when I mark my students' work and expected to write long reports about their progress. Also, when they schedule a Zoom staff meeting and then cancel it last minute, is uncalled for. (Unless something happened right before) But, hey, "There is not much to talk about" in an email five minutes before the meeting is uncalled for.
