Also noticed that but then thought nah that's not gonna be on purpose it's probably just the setup Plus フフフフ is pretty snobby laughter. Normal Japanese laughter is 草草草 (which is a joke of a joke which is amazing. Original word for laughing is 笑い which starts with a w so people started using wwwwww which looks like grass so people started using the word for grass.)

Just an idea about the workings behind the homing fish (at 31:57 ): A bunch of note blocks containing the fish, a row of coins above it, and a one up mushroom above the coins. The P-Switch is active, so the coins are solid blocks, and it's night time, so the one up is a (homing) poison mushroom. The mushroom would try to be on top of you the whole time, and as soon as the P-Switch runs out, it would drop on a note block and release the (not so homing) fish.
