You know,despite all the critisism and that last-minute failed PL,Rodgers was not bad.He had plenty of positives and I hope he rises again as a good manager.

Young footballers are generally knobheads, but sterling looks genuinely baffled by this bollocking he just got. Chances are he probably didn't say even steady, or anything disrespectful. It was a tactic by Rodgers, pick on the highest profile youngster, brings them all down a peg. He learned this off mourinho during his time at Chelsea. I seem to recall he had another pop at sterling in this series, telling him "do that again and you'll be dancing on the sidelines with me" or something.

cohenhaywood10 He's a great manager and a great coach. Tactics are great. His big problem is in the transfer market. His knowledge of players outside of the UK is very poor. And the transfer committee money ball statistician guys don't help matters because they're dumb over transfers as well. I reckon Rodgers could be one of the best managers in the world if he had a world class Director of Football who helped him buy the players. He has bought crap but he has made the most out of what he buys. He built the team around Suarez last season and gave Suarez the environment to score a record 31 League goals. Suarez will never reach that figure again at Barca trust me. At most Suarez will reach 25 in all competitions. Rodgers has also greatly improved Sterling, Henderson and Sturridge. You can't deny he's a great coach. His problem is just his bad transfers.

I am a liverpool fan through and through. but i love alex ferguson i think he was the best manager ever. allthough im not nearly old enough to know shanks, paisley or any of those old greats. Brendan Rodgers is a good manager. i atleast think that even thinking about ditching him is out of the question for at least this season. I think that the reason for why he doesnt buy world class players and keeps trying to find young and cheap ones is because he is looking for the next raheem sterling or gerrard or carra or suarez.

@@Tridentus I really liked the look of Suso but Alberto looked pretty lightweight for us whenever he played. We had Aspas too, who was a total flop but went straight back to scoring in La Liga when he got there.

Cristiano Messi it's not just about the use of the word, it's about the context that the word is used in. Rodgers obviously felt as though Sterling used the word "steady" in a context in which Sterling was being authoritative by instructing Rodgers. Ultimately, Rodgers sensed disrespect being directed to him from the 17 year-old Sterling (in the presence of the other players to make matters worse) and therefore, being the manager and thus the authority, reproached him.

when you say steady like 'steady on' its kinda like saying calm down your getting carried away but in a sarcastic way. It can be seen as more sarcastic then rude but depends on the context. Obviously rogers took offense, but partly i think hes stamping his authority and making sure the younger players dont get too cocky. Seemed slightly OTT to me.

I always felt to documentary was a pointless distraction especially for Rodgers' first season. But seeing this scene again with everything going on with Sterling and Liverpool it really does worry me in the future. I'm not sure Rodgers has the whole "attitude" of players worked out. He's failed with young prospects such as Shelvey who carries a temper with him. He failed with Balotelli but who wouldn't. He's buying players who spend half of matchdays posting shit on Instagram. The dressing room is becoming selfie school and it's ridiculous. He's about to fail with Sterling. Why? Because they all have ego's. Sterling and his shockingly bad advisers and agent aren't helping. I'm not quite sure Brendan knows what he's doing with Liverpool sometimes. We're buying young players and under 21's can always change. Very worried with this void we're being left in now nearly all senior players have gone.
