Being Authentic In A Filtered World | Rachel DeAlto | TEDxHartford

We filter how we are seen on social media. It gives an incorrect version of who we really are. How can we be self confident if we share a different version of who we really are? In a world where we wear a limitless number of masks, authenticity can be the difference between success and mediocrity. Relationship expert Rachel DeAlto reveals how her success was created and will share how you can connect with others and reach your professional potential through self-awareness, vulnerability, and confidence in being exactly who you are. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This showed up in our group today, I wasn't going to watch it, and I am so glad I did. Yes those moments of kindness, I am going to write them down now.

This is beautiful. It is so hard to stay true to the authentic self when there is so much social media influence. I deleted my instagram and Facebook and I have seen SO MUCH growth in how I feel about authenticity and joy in the present moment. Life is beautiful and meant to be lived fully. Not lived through a lense. You don't need the permission of viewers to enjoy your life

Isn't this true, lately I have been hearing what I am saying about myself to others, always the golden version.

I agree. I had to give up instagram and Facebook this year bc something about those platforms specifically disrupted so much authenticity. I found they were robbing me of being able to fully show up as my authentic self and I wanted to live life as fully present in the moment as I possibly can. Cheers and blessings to you!

Yes. THIS. So much. I’ve been going through some deep realizations this week, and the desire to consciously move toward greater authenticity has been a huge part of what’s been occurring for me. This talk resonates powerfully. Thank you for sharing your journey and your insights.
