We all know her signature "LuPone Lip". The quivering of her lip from sheer power, and the lack of tension in her jaw! Has anyone else noticed that when she sings "Vary my days" you can see her actual vocal chord moving due to the lack of tension! It amazes me every time!

I haven't had the privilege of seeing her in a show, but diva or not, she is a superb performer after decades on the stage. She has one two Tony Awards and been nominated several more times. The best talent seems to be the most criticized: Patti LuPone, Sutton Foster, Bernadette Peters, etc.

so, i'm trying to learn this song with a vocal instructor, and everytime i go from "But alone, is alone, not alive. Somebody.." i always run out of air since that's a pretty long note. also, the last Being is pretty high for a baritone... also, i think patti drank too much coffee at the time of this performance, cause she FLEW through that song!
