This is one of the most powerful interpretations of "Being Alive" I've ever seen. Thornton is a deeply ambivalent Bobby, which makes his commitment to the possibility of commitment even braver. What's especially impressive is that this is completely different than his interpretation of "Another Hundred People," also on KZread. Bobby Conte Thornton may be the best singer/actor since Aaron Tveit. He would be wonderful as Seurat in Sunday in the Park with George.

SINCE Aaron? 🤣 Aaron is awful. He’s just handsome with a killer instrument. Bobby is definitely in another class as a actor.

I have watched many many people do this number, and never have I ever seen someone who acted thru his musical instrument so brilliantly. His merging, controlling, and weaving of his intellectual and emotional understanding of this song, and allowing his emotional voice to act thru his singing voice. The conductor was also brilliant in that he took the orchestra's volume and tempo levels and pacing from this outstanding performer, never over shadowing him, with unneeded volume. Mr. Bobby Conte Thonton, you should be very proud of such a remarkably brilliant rendition of such a difficult song to perform. I watched in a truly theatrically feeling sense of getting lost in your magical enchantment of "Being Alive", and found myself unable to not turn away (as many time I do today with performers be very modiocre), and have no choice but to cry as I watch this magnificent story unfold. Bravo!

One of the prettiest accompaniments I have heard for this song. I can't help but get hit in the feelings.

This guy was really great staring as Calogero in A Bronx Tale! Can’t wait to hear him(here’s to hope there’s a cast recording!) in the new revival of Company next year! He’ll be playing PJ, a re-gendered version of Marta(which means he’ll be singing Another Hundred People), along side Patti LuPone as Joanne and Katrina Lenk(That’s right, from Indecent and The Band’s Visit) as Bobbie(re-gendered Robert)!!!

J'ai rarement vu une aussi belle interprétation, haletante de par sa profondeur et sa complexité émotionnelle. Milles bravos à Thornton pour la compréhension émotionnelle de la situation !

A Dean Jones diehard, wish to pay compliment to an equally honest and compelling reading of the lyrics. Actually, the filmed images might be a distraction. There is indeed much to appreciate from the performance.

I think that orchestra is incredibly beautiful, and even thought it was especially beautiful, and the way they timed out everything and their dynamic choices were so well balanced out with Bobby, and it felt magical to me. I'm so sorry you didn't like it though, and maybe next time instead of taking the time out of your day to write a mean and unconstructive comment, maybe just watch an orchestra you prefer!! 😁💕💕 Much love!!!!!
