    Would it be wrong to say regarding the "Christ died for all" argument against reformed thinking is that God knowing who will choose to be saved and who won't so He does not violate (or redeem) those that choose NOT to be redeemed? I am very comfortable believing God knew prior to creation who would and who wouldn't and created His plans accordingly. Like Pastor MacArthur says God isn't working plan B. (He's always working plan A because he's sovereign. )

    Don't you think that would have abolished free will if everything was predestined???... if God predestined everything then what would be the purpose???

    I myself, my sister and mother are Reformed. Don't pray much. How often do you pray? Do you sometimes say other prayers besides just the Lord's prayer?

  • @etheligidigba410

    @etheligidigba410

    The lord's pray is good because it covers the general basis things. But we should pray to the father in the name of the son Every day about things that are personal to us. Anyone can say the lord's pray. Don't you have personal things you wish to talk to God about? Go everyday to God about the things you want, with humility and respect, bring your petition to him,but asked for his will to be done. Not yours.

    I attend (and am a member of) a Free Will Baptist Church (Arminian) and I have to say that I am more aligned with your description as what my beliefs are than the Arminian view but with one small exception...Limited Atonement. I just can’t (yet) bring myself to the “elect” portion of Calvinism. I know the Bible talks about the elect, so I’m not arguing that your theology isn’t scripturally based I just struggle with God saying I want you...but not her (if you will). But, I do believe my salvation is secure. I don’t believe it can be lost. But I believe in free will!! So, tell me... Does that make me a Calvinist or Arminian?? 😂 Great video, btw! Liked and subscribed!

    THE Gen5Gal I see limited atonement as a very wonderful thing because, if God didn't choose us to be saved then, we would never be saved. On our own, we would never, ever choose God, not in a billion years or in an eternity. He didn't have to save even one person so, saving millions and millions is a tremendous display of grace. I do wish He would save everyone but in His wisdom, He chose not to. God's free will trumps ours since we are the created thing. Check out Brian Borgman's video on free will, it's very good.

    Michael J McCurdy thank you for your response. I do have another question if you don’t mind. John 3:16- Doesn’t this verse alone suggest that God desires to save everyone (that would choose Him)?

    The p in tulip is perseverance on the saints that means if you believe in God and accept him you’ll be fine. Plus God is all knowing so if you choose that means he knows everything BUT where you go.

    THE Gen5Gal indeed! God does desire to save everyone who chooses him and will. There is nothing good in man that would make us want God, so to it it simply if you aren’t elect, then you’ll never even desire God. So that being said, all who do believe in him have to be elect. Does that make sense?

    Thank you. This is just the sort of quick, broad & general summary I was looking for when I typed in "Idiot's Guide to Reformed Theology" as I wasn't looking to go deep. But I could not help noticing the conspicuous absence of the Holy Ghost from the list of "solas". I would place Him right after sola scriptura (by revelation of the Holy Spirit alone) as the scripture states it cannot be understood by the natural man, but must be spiritually discerned; and that the Holy Ghost would be sent to lead and guide disciples into all the truth (that is, all of the word of God, that is, all of Jesus who is called "the Word made flesh"). ....Perhaps my comment is a little off-topic or beyond the scope of your summary, but in light of so much talk about the new reformation going on in the church today, I decided to submit it for your (& others') consideration.

    If any teaching doesn't lead to Christlikeness, the divine power and love life we see in Christ, freely given by Jesus blood and indwelling spirit, get rid of it. It is not worth following. I have some reformed friends. They do not understand the Gospel: the restoration of a wo-/man back to the image of God. A very sad thing. Once spoke with some of their pastors. When i mentioned spiritual giftings given to us by the indwelling Holy Spirit and the Spirit changing us into the image of God again, they looked at me as if they saw water burning. They really had no clue what i was talking about. They follow some weird doctrine, a teaching of man and forefathers. So sad. Because it leaves a vast community powerless and mere human.

    Anyone can say they are reformed even if they don't understand the gospel. Apply discernment. Just because they're your friends doesn't mean they're telling the truth.

    Theres no need to reform the word, whatever you learn from the beginning on the word, you should listen to the Holy Spirit , the simplicity of the Bible presented, do not listen to philosophers who interpret the scripture outside the Bible .

    You mean invented the word "apartheid"? Because separating human beings based on ethnicity, religion, color, status, et. al. and the granting of special privileges to one group over another, while denying basic rights to others, has existing in human history for 1000s of years.

    Grace through Faith is not "Calvinism" because the Calvinist believes Faith is a work. So they twist Grace into categories. Effectual calling and ineffectual calling. They twist "elected" into meaning salvation. Judas was elected and pharaoh was elected. Election has nothing to do with salvation. Then the equate predestination into individual salvation. This takes away from what is being predestined. Genesis 1:31. The world is being predestined back to Genesis 1:31. Limited atonement? The limited are to those who believe. That doesn't mean it wasn't meant for those who don't believe but it was never accepted by those who don't believe. Remember Judas was chosen and he didn't believe.
