One of the things that people don't realize is that they don't backtest their ideas, looking at historical data and pulling conclusion from there is one of the key things. You can't just learn few trading patterns and and be profitable, you need to dig deeper.

You could back test a strategy over the last 8 years and it wouldn't prepare you for the current market weirdness. I think there is value in it, for sure, but stepping up to the plate every day, even if you're only trading 10 or 100 shares, will help you feel out what works right now.

@@ggnorekthx The market conditions change more when you look it with your eyes, when you do back testing and look at numbers you realize the things changed barely at all. THat's my point.
Awesome conversation, thanks again Ross for inviting me out!

Going sideways as a trader of 9 months feel like crap. This shifted my perspective so much. Thank you.
What a fantastic channel! Of course I'm late to this party, but fortunate to find it. Looking forward to joining the WT team soon. I live in Berkshire County too, pretty surreal you're based out of GB.

i am a trader that entered in february his third year. i am currently in the phase where i am mostly sideways, which in my book is a win tbh. just have to continue to work on the craft, work on my mental balance etc and hopefully one day it will switch to being actually profitable.
So true, I got wretched 2022 and it was because I refused to cut losses quickly. So stupid but I'm learning lessons and trading on sim for the next year to learn some more before I dive back in.

All about learning from our mistakes!
I was going sideways for a while, and just took a big loss the week before Christmas. Ouch! That really hurt. I’m regaining strength to get back in, possibly with an offshore acct because I’m now 1/2 way below PDT :/

@@DaytradeWarrior I definitely am! I took a breather since, now I’m refocused and going through the trader rehab + reviewing some important classes I’ve completed so far. I’m excited and feeling pretty confident that I’ll do better this time around. Thanks Ross!
i think for myself as a newer trader the roller coaster happened as a result of not having a solid foundation education of use of stops and programming of brokerages to prevent massive losses and the teaching that we are not just trading against our selves but algos as well on top of the psychology of fear and greed... one day someone will build an amazing brokerage for retail instead of us losing to learn coding to piece it all together :).. remember me though I always persevere

For me it’s bit different , I have proper risk management but I make good profits 1 week and blow that profit in next 2 weeks , so frustrated. Please anyone can help ??

That is not uncommon for newer traders. If you'd like to learn more about Ross' strategies and our community be sure to check out our Pro Preview offer here: warrior.app/pro-preview
Just try to average 3/10ths of 1 percent per day and in 10 years you can turn $10k into nearly $19M.

For me it’s I can’t get back to back winners . I’m always 2-3 losses 1 win . So for me I just don’t have enough wins to give me profits . That’s why I’ve been a break even trader . I don’t have huge losses . Yo have huge losses that means I’d have to be risking way over 1% and that’s obvious my fault . it’s so frustrating cause I keep my discipline to 1%, but each week I’m either -1 or breakeven or I’m down -3 and fighting to get to breakeven. Just writing this makes me so frustrated!!!

Focusing in on where you're making mistakes and creating a better plan for risk reward potential are some good areas to focus. Stick with it.
