    I've setup mine a few days ago. I don't like to drive my 1/14 Truck with twin stick controls/radios. I prefer to use the FlySky NB4. The great thing about this unit is the ability to control most of the truck and trailer functions via my android phone. Works like a charm. Once you've set it up. Plus you are not limited to a set of sounds provided by the manufacturer. Not to mention the light functions, cruise control etc. I can not recommend it highly enough.

    Bob........ I'm excited!! 😁 So, to do a basic setup is nearly a no brainer. Minor tweaks aren't hard. I'm lovin' it!!! AND it's cheaper than the MFC? Bonus! I just blew my budget, getting the Grand Hauler (my FIRST 1/14 Semi!!), Bearings, Servos, 550 Motor, Hobbywing WP1080 ESC (just so I can MOVE her while getting used to Driving), 3:1 Gear Reduction Unit (because I want to run a lower Turn, more powerful Motor), Aluminum Wheels, LESU Tires and Aluminum 5th Wheel Plate, AND the Cletus Snow Trailer Wrap!! (Surprisingly EXPENSIVE) I know you don't need to know that, but at 57 years old, I'm jumping around like a child at the thought of FINALLY having enough money to join this Club!! {I've been in the Hobby since early 1983, but was never able to afford enough for a big lump purchase like this!!} So yeah, I'm going to watch, study and save all these Videos of yours on this amazing system! NOBODY runs these within 300 miles of me - but I don't care. I may even inspire others to dive in! 😉 SO the answer is probably yes... but since it can operate with Lipos, is the Cutoff Voltage SET? Or can I adjust that too? OK my Friend, I know I've asked too much already! Just one more. Instead of the Engine Sounds merely whining up, like a ONE Speed Transmission, is there any way to set up a series of "Shifts", from no more than about 2800rpm, like a real one? Like say.... 6 or 7 shifts before the Kit Transmission shifts to Second?? Too complex? 😲 OK Bob, I'll leave you with that assorted MESS of a Comment! I hope to hear from you on at least SOME of it. Building starts NEXT Week!! 😁😁💃🎉 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

    @@HobbyconceptsLLC Bob.... I need HELP!!! 😳 I don't know if it's Software, Security OR that I've only been using Windows 10 since YESTERDAY.... I can't get the Sound Teacher to load ANYTHING onto a Truck!! It keeps saying "File is Write Protected and can't be copied" That's even if I try to save a copy on the Drive.... I know I'm doing something WRONG!!

    Thanks for the video, I found your site/videos by accident (thanks KZread suggestions, for once!) and was trying to understand the wiring in the manual before watching your video. As soon as you showed the throttle and steering connections were already wired to the board, the manual suddenly made perfect sense. I'm watching these again... So... What I'm getting is: although I'm using a FSi6 Radio, if I wanted to - I could really use a 3 Channel Trigger Radio!?? Which I may do with an 1850l I'm building soon - for my Grandbabies to run with me. CAN the Beier USM-2 be hooked up this way too? I HOPE you'll be doing a USM RC-2 Series soon. I know you've got some COOL new toys - but I'd really appreciate it. I hope I've shown by now that I'm an actual Customer, and not just one of the many who just talk..... 😉

    The sounds were recorded from 1:1 sources. If you have a Detroit Diesel, it was recorded from a 1:1 Detroit Diesel. Not a generic. Sounds as with the MFU and other units

    You could use one of the servo outputs and hook that to a speed control to work the legs. Or hook a servo to microswitches to work the legs.

    bob, i will order the sfr-1 starter kit for my grand hauler from you in a couple weeks. i know it comes with lights that have resistors. i have some lights that do not. im thinking of also getting the akl-8-w ribbon cab le. does it matter if i run some of your lights thru it that already have a resistor with some that do not. will it harm it at all?

  • @HobbyconceptsLLC

    @HobbyconceptsLLC

    You can mix them just fine. The only thing that is important is that each LED needs a resistor. If you put one that has a resistor into an AKL-8 you can just jump the resistor slot with apiece of wire.

    It will work with Spektrum but hard to take full advantage because Spektrum radios do not support SBUS. Other radios are better.

    So I went over to Beier's site and the cost for everything to get started is roughly about $300 USD not including shipping? Looks like the advantage it has on tamiya is that it's programmable and less bulky, though the price seems the same once shipping is added. I may be wrong. Any insight is appreciated. luv the (your) detailed video.

    Basically SFR-1 is the most advanced unit of it's kind avaiable, while Tamiya MFC is more in the other end of the scale, more 'toy grade', and they are quite close in price. MFC is far less 'pang for the bucks'. Major differences is the SFR-1 is much more compact, and the ESC is much more finetuned, in addition to all the programable settings. 2 different worlds.

    I do sell them here: hobbyconcepts.net/products/beier-sfr-1-starter-package?_pos=2&_sid=4acd7f1e8&_ss=r Once you have one you don't need to purchase items like the USB cable and software so the 2nd one is less. Way more capable unit than the Tamiya MFC but a bit more complicated to set up.
