This video was very helpful in directing me to solving the problem with a borrowed Behringer FCA 610, that it needed a driver! Thank you! It was plugged in via usb to my computer (with power chord plugged in too), it was registering my mic on the interface, yet the interface wasn't appearing at all on my DAW. Many downloads later that kept appearing with a different make number, I realized all I need to download was simply the USB drive. Now it works!

6 year later and this video help me big time. I got one of these bad boy because it was so highly recommend

@Elvis Silva. Thanks for asking, something I missed mentioning. No the FCA1616 does not have any mixing control software and no DSP. As seen in the video, a simple bit rate and Sample Rate selection. If you PC is fast enough and you can get the latency very low, then you can use your DAW to provide the DSP using VST plug-ins. Soon I will have some video on this topic.

Great video, very instructive. I've recently just bought a new Desktop PC and my FCA1616 has been isn't working well with it. It keeps cutting out and then popping back loudly every 2 or 3 minutes. Also, watching videos on Chrome is fuzzy and is cracking audibly. I'm using a USB connection and I have all of the other audio devices disabled. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Download and install the FCA1616 driver from Behringer. See how that goes.

Hi there. My bother just got the Behringer FCA610 today and I went around his to set it up on his PC via the use of a USB lead. Now I have had several problems with it. First up it uses exactly the same drivers as you have for your model here. I have no problem using the switch to switch over to USB and get the blue light lit. But as soon as I go into a DAW it's a nightmare. For example my brother as two DAW's installed on his desktop computer. His preferred DAW is Reaper and he had no problem with his old Audio Interface which was a Lexicon. The other DAW he has is Audacity. Now at first I used Reaper and this is what happens every time I try and use it. The Blue Light turns to red and the driver drops and is not recognised. Now when I got into Audacity that seem to work fine. But not that fine at all (LOL) For example the Blue Light stays on but flickers every now and cuts the sound out in playback in parts and produces loud spike noises. Now I know your not the Behringer support team and I have just joined their community forum to try and get some answers, and even though I have registered there is no buttons on the damn thing for me to make a new Post or Thread and I was wondering if you had came across somebody who as had similar problems with their Audio Interfaces from this company. I myself brought the much cheaper Behringer U-PHORIA UMC204HD and have no problem at all with it. As a matter of a fact I shall take it to my brothers this Saturday and try that on his computer to see if that works OK. So at least I will be able to tell if the problem is with the device or his computer.

I have seen a video on KZread with FCA1616 having similar problems. I think he ended up returning it a it was a defective unit. With my FCA1616, I have had no issues with my New PC or my HP i7 laptop. But, I did have occasionally similar effect when I used my old DELL laptop (Core 2 Duo). I think the laptop could not handle the data throughput? Since I hardly ever use my old DELL laptop, this was not an issue for me. Could it be your brother's PC that does not have enough processing power? I don't know. Maybe try to change the sample buffer up (higher latency) to see if that helps.

Thanks very much for the speedy reply. Your most likely right about the PC cause his is quite old and only (Core 2 Duo) To be honest his CPU might not be that good either and a twin core but not the one you mentioned. But just to check I will take my Audio Interface down thee on Saturday and make sure the unit is not defective. Cause when he ordered it from Amazon they stated it would not be in stock till January next year Then he had an email off them the other day stating it will be arriving Friday and it arrived yesterday instead. I will also try the adjusting the sample buffer too and see if that does any better. But it is most likely the case that he will have get a new PC to get the best out of it. By the way the other week he paid some near enough £250 for a Focusrite and that had more teething problems than this and he had to send it back.

I think he needs to spend some money on a new PC :-) Most new interfaces demand more cpu power, specially if more than 2 audio channels in/out.

Well this morning I think he as just solved the problem. Has the Behringer Audio Interface would not work with his computer he just used his Behringer Mixing Desk which is USB via Direct Sound with Reaper. It worked like a dream and his Behringer B1030A Truth 2 Way Reference Studio Monitors work just as well with it and sound great. So I told him if your happy with that why have an Audio interface. For me it works just as good and you have not got all the problems with Latency via Direct Sound. So he is sending it back and getting his money back and will invest in a couple of rack mount modules to go with his mixing desk instead. Those Behringer B1030A Truth 2 Way Reference Studio Monitors are superb by the way and I am gonna get a couple for myself hopefully for Christmas.

It certainly looks that way, but I never owned 2 of them to test and try.

Could you do more testing with various, especially lower buffer sizes under a heavier VST load and compare the performance to your regular interface? I've seen some testimonials that are not very, to put it mildly, favourable of Behringer drivers, so I think it might make an interesting video.

Bojan Kerkez I will be doing few tests, from audio quality to latency in my following videos. So far, as to latency, I'm impressed. I tried with REAPER connected via USB on my laptop (Intel i7 3632 2.2Ghz 8G RAM), with several VST fx, and the latency was very short, under 10ms. Remembering that, while recording, most of the time you would have minimum VST FX for vocals, like reverb or delay. All other instruments with record direct. Having the MIX BAL option knob, makes it easy to get low latency and FX at the same time, when needed. But for the results, you have to wait for my next video in the series.

In deepth analytical testing of this product, great! I have a question: Is it possible to record line levels in mic-input 1-4 too? For example two Keyboards, one in input 1 and 2 so its stereo, and the other Keyboard in input 3 and 4. My goal is to record 3-4 Synthrsizer in stereo at the same time. So I would have to use all Inputs. Greetings from Germany

I mostly use it for live recording and have not paid much attention to the details. Nut, they incorporate MIDAS pre-amps, that should be clear and transparent. With my testing (I have a video on it on my channel), they turned out very clear and very low self noise pre-amps. What mics or instruments are you plugging in?

Yes, it will handle all 8 inputs as line level from the 8 outputs of ASR-10 with no issues. I have tested the unit (USB) with 8 inputs to 8 separate tracks in my DAW for a duration of 30 minutes without a glitch. I still have the unit in my studio.

Hi there! as I know the firepower fca1616 has 16 channel inputs, but it only shows 8 input channels from the settings, since I need more than 8 inputs to record whole band instruments including drum sets, how can I do?

The unit itself has 8 analogue and 2 digital inputs and outputs. To add more, you need the ADAT connection to maybe ADA8000 or newer ADA8200 to add extra 8 mic channels, totalling it to 16 inputs and 16 outputs. The 2 digital SPDIF channels disconnect when ADAT is used. Hope that clears the confusion.

Drivers are not required for Mac OS, as they use Core Audio, as I mention in my review video. :-) Just plug it in and it will work, USB or FireWire connection.

Many thanks for this tutorial. I would like to comment a problem I had when I installed the drivers, an error message appears saying: Error: "nsgD056.tmp" cnep "Behringer FCA1616 USB Control Panel.exe -hide" did not return within 30000 ms. Is that something really bad? How to solve? (I'm a complete beginner in this field)

Àlbert Rafels I installed the driver on couple of my laptops and PC and had no issue in any. Did you follow the installation instructions? There is a time where you need to connect the USB to the FCA1616 when prompted. Do you have the FCA1616 in USB mode? Is it flashing blue? If flashing red, then you need to follow the simple instruction to select the USB connection. While the unit is powered off, hold down the DIGITAL SELECT button. Keep holding it and plug the power lead. Release the button. Now it will flash red or blue. If flashing red, press the DIGITAL SELECT button, it will cycle between blue (USB) and red (F/W) connection option. My next video coming soon will show you this step. There are lots of possibilities that can give the error. Maybe you can contact Behringer Support and ask them as well.

If you are referring to a driver/mixer software, like the one for Focusrite or PreSonus, there is non. Install the FCA1616 driver and the inputs/outputs will appear in your DAW.

hi, i have bought a Fca1616 and the computer doesnt recognize it. i have read that it has some problems with windows 10. the thing is that when i plug the usb nothing happens, just all the lights on. i tried to press the "digital select" buttom and doesnt do anything also install the drivers but whitout recognizing the fca1616 its imposible. If you have every LED on the right hand side on all the time, then It's a faulty unit. Return it for replacement.

The USB cord that comes with the FCA1616 doesn't fit into my computers USB ports, which means to anyone using a HP Envy, you'll be stuck using Firewire because the driver installation for the USB will fail.

It came with two cables. One looks identical on either end, and the other is different on one end. I'm able to plug the cable with the one end different into the computer, I'm not sure if its the USB or FireWire cable, Behringer was really scant on instructions. I'm able to install the firewire drivers just fine, but my computer doesn't recognize the interface when I try to download the USB drivers. I disconnect, reconnect, and turn the power on as instructed, but it doesn't budge. And it seems both drivers would be necessary to use Pro Tools, correct?

I do not install the drivers because I did not find for mac, the blue light does not blink, it stays static in blue. I already verified that the configuration of my computer was selecting the interface and I use Ableton Live as software more than everything

I assume you already have the device selected in Ableton. Unfortunately, It has been a long time since I turned on my iMac and I don't have Ableton. Maybe someone in the comments can help you further.

+Promusic Studios I have no association or any closer communication with Behringer than anyone else. You are better off contacting Behringer support directly. As with Windows 10 drivers, Behringer now recommends ASIO4ALL drivers and have removed original Behringer drivers off their web site (I do have old drivers on my web site for free download). I have had no issues with original Behringer drivers or ASIO4ALL driver with my FCA1616, running on my Windows 10 on my laptop or Main PC.
