Behringer FCA1616 review and overview
Review of the Behringer FCA1616 from a usability standpoint. An outstanding value considering the mic channels, inserts, 0 latency monitoring setup to computer, and USB interface. It's my go to device for live band recording and mixing at home.

One of the most useful reviews I've seen
this device,FCA610 works;Win10,latest,Cubase 10,AMD,Linux.all is no problem.A win10 driver is there and works ;usb or firewire, nice!!!In 2020 i´m glad to have the device. Before i had the one from Steinberg with no good results......
Great review. I havea question about the insert jacks, btw I have the smaller version of this, why not just plug the pedals or daisy chain them in between the guitar and the interface in the front. Like a traditional set-up. Is that a special cable in order for the effects to be applied?
Hey, thanks for the review. I'm considering getting this unit (or the fca610), but I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to online. I'm going to be using the device to mix/master 5.1 audio with my monitors. One thing I am wondering is if the Behringer drivers allow for enabling the bass management feature to send low frequencies to the subwoofer. I know it's available when used with generic Microsoft P'n'P drivers... Usually this feature is accessible by going to playback devices...properties..enhancements tab, however I've seen a few drivers in the past that don't have this feature. Would you have any idea if the Behringer drivers for this device have any type of bass management feature? Cheers!
Good device, but Behringer still left one lie there: main channel can't be used separately. It is always mix of all inputs and outputs, so honestly it is 14 out and 16 in channels. Update: after month of using I'd say it is not good device. At 1st, I failed to manage it to work via firewire. At 2nd, very ugly bug has been noticed: channels 7 and 8 may swap randomly. I guess i've noticed it because I use them separately, and I assume there is the same bug for other channels, but I'ven't noticed it because they are used for stereo.

Are you in mac or Windows?
looks like a cool product, am digging it.
Hey man, thanks for the review! I need a little clarification on the inserts: are they 1:1 with the inputs on hardware level? Or would it be possible to route my DAW inserts to physical inserts on the interface? This is what I am looking for and there isn't too much information about how do you do that

@MrJacuPlacu >Been using mine for 7 years...the 4 are line level (must carry about 1 volt as most are) instruments only such as a Analog Drum machines (Alysis DR-16) got my Roland DR-8S pluged in here. The 8 inserts are balanced tip-ring-sleeve ONLY . Inserts in your DAW as plug ins on your track, although if you want to route to say a compressor then do so using your DAW Bus. Go to behringers website and download the manuals !
Great review! I think I'll invest in one myself :)
I saw the review of the FCA1616 where there was a gentlemen who posted an "honest" review and i was wondering if those issues were corrected? or if its maybe a case by case issue? Im really conserding getting this, or if there is another simular or better for around the same price you or anyone would suggest...
daisy chain? through the spdif connection? ....how?
Hello, do you have any idea how to connect a 3d 2000 virtualizer?
Is there any latency when recording vocals to a 2 track Using studio One Artist?
Niiiice. Is this powered through the USB cable?!

Hey man! I have a question for you. If I extend the number of channels through ADAT (with Behringer ADA8000), can I simultaneously record 16 tracks on my laptop using the USB connection?

+Razvan Nica I think you could do that with an BEHRINGER ADA8200, not the ADA8000.

+lifeisfortytwo why not?

+Razvan Nica I think either would work fine - the ADA8200 just has different preamps - both have ADAT, so can't see any reason why not - just remember to match sample rates and you're good to go.
just got this today....having no luck installing it onto my laptop running xp...it tries to install but says install not completed. when i go into control panel ....sound settings hardware....it shows a yellow question mark.....this unit is meant to require no drivers and is simply plug in and play.....am i doing something wrong

Still use it for recording! I use it for recording my own stuff and my band live. For live recording I used 2 main mix inputs and 2 omni mics out in the audience.
