Hey IP :) I'm looking at the Dreadbox Dystopia module - which is the filter/bit crusher. Looks unique and interesting.

@@ranzee Guess what I just purchased, can never have enough especially as I actually had non. That is sorted now and this is my first Behringer eurorack module. Let's see if my worries become fact, longevity! If I don't get the chance have a great festive season and New Year Ranz. See you around.

An interesting video, thank you. But can I ask what are the modules, apart from the Magneto that you have in the rack under the Neutron please. My apologies I am a gear hound.

Hey :) There's the Roland Scooper, Make Noise Maths, and a Roland System 500 module. There's a massive change since then - you should check out some of my recent live streams :) plenty of eurorack goodness :)

So are those modulation jacks on the bottom the cv for opening the vca like where I could attach an envelope? Cuz the way they call it modulation it makes me wonder does the knob open the vca alone and the jacks only modulate? or? Because gotta have the standard env/vca function.. you know.

  • @ranzee

They are attenuators for the mod inputs - so as you state they modulate the VCA - either with an EG or an LFO (or something else).

@@ranzee ah OK so it's like a triple attenuation vca rather than amplifier vca. I dunno I find it PURELY annoying that it has 3x ports and"modulation" and no straight up vca cv. The whole 3 in and 3mod And 1 out is just like...wtf? Then I start thinking so it's this large just to have these 3 things... like... it's actually 2 individual vca with no cv vca open control and a mixer? I just find it very awkward

Great demo, really enjoyed your run through. Seeing that you also have a Neutron, do feel the caliber of sound the System 100 modules produce is worth the extra cost rather than purchasing a complete Behringer mono like the Neutron or Cat? Thanks!

Hi Kira, for me it's more about what each module can deliver on their own - which is kindof my philosophy with why I decided to get into Eurorack. I'm building up a set of utilities (if you will) that can be used in varying combinations that will add uniqueness to my sounds. A synth module can do this - but there is and always will be a limitation. I also think that if you can, try and get the best of both worlds. The reason why I originally purchased the Neutron was because of the excellent CV functions it has - and they have been used many times. However, the oscillators in it sound beautiful - as you can hear in this video. So keeping options open is always a good rule of thumb :)

Hi Erik, in that video I think it was just the built-in effects on the Roland MX-1 mixer.

it's the Neutron my friend - filmed before the Behringer 112 dual VCOs were available. There's more vidoes on my channel showing the dual VCOs: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aYmXp8qxY9Wec6Q.html
