Well...Ukraine didn't take Russia seriously. they warned them not to be part of NATO or the European union. They also killed a lot of ethnic Russians in ukriane. Russia had to invade.

@@gumby2241 Both nations aren’t comparable. Russia has a large pool of civilians which increases the potential of volunteers while being mostly safe inside their country. Ukraine on the other hand has to fear for survival with no guarantee of success nor survival. If Russia loses they get to retreat back to their homes at 0 risk. Ukraine doesn’t have that luxury. Regarding the pay by the army I don’t have the numbers. There has been a lot of media stunts and held back payments by russia though. Some widows haven’t received anything from the Russian government yet.

When you need to be forced to fight for your country when it gets invaded by another country then you do not have much of a country in the first place .

A serious question: do people in Ukraine really believe they can retake most or all of the territory they currently don't control? If yes, why? I'm asking the same question also to non-Ukrainians. To me it looks more and more unlikely, i wonder what's the point of sending new waves of thousands and thousands of men to die for a war they probably will not lose, but not win either.

Since there is a war, we didn't do everything required to prevent it, so now we must do everything we can to stop it. Ukraine matters, this is Europe. Half-measures will just lead to Russia winning. It's ironic that people who want the war to continue don't want individual NATO members going boots on the ground fighting cuz muh laugjable escalation wbich is already a reality for Ukraine. They want to eat their cake and have it too. A haulted war means letting Russia keep the donbass or wherever the lines are in exchange for saving what's left of the innocent draftee men from being sent to a drone/artillery meat grinder. To stop the war, all sides have to sit down at the negotiating table and find a compromise, I think that's obvious. But the president of Ukraine issued a decree prohibiting negotiations with Russia, and the West has not taken any diplomatic steps to stop the war for two years, the West only helps Ukraine to kill Russians who have done nothing bad to the West.

The only way to end this is to acknowledge that neither side gets exactlly what they want. And neither side will settle for anything less. So there is no end without victory because neither side values life greater then compromise. There is a war in ukraine because that is the only option they have left eachother to reach a solution. Russia just didn't invade ukraine because it's trying to take over the world. And ukraine didn't just pick a fight with Russia. Personally myself I would of secured a ukraine independent and neutral and brought prosperity to ukraine threw multi nation relations. There is allot of security provided to nations who lay down there weapons and militaries in the name of neutrality. And they actually thrive evan with russia on there border! Zelensky may not be wrong by saying putin can not be trusted but there is a reallity where neutral nations on Russian borders have lived and thrived peacefully. And there is a reallity to the notion that forign countries will send there own troops to defend the helpless..zelensky has chosen a path of strength threw violence and fear and so zelensky lives in the reallity of that path he has chose. I personally believe Crimea and dontesk are a price well payed for the independence of ukraine after all it's just dirt. I kind of leaned towards Russian support not because I support russia but because I understand there position and don't believe there advancment into ukraine is some grand plan to recapture the eastern bloc!

The U.S. isn’t sending checks to Ukraine. Most of the aid bill will be send to Ukraine in form of old military equipment with the money being allocated towards the U.S. buying themselves new equipment to replace the aid.

Central Banks were invented to print money to rob taxpayers. Most of the budget goes to entitlements, not military spending or even foreign aid. For every dollar printed, the private central bank owner gets 20 cents, and that's the 20 cents we all pay for via taxes or inflation, which is akin to a tax on savings. Socialism is making us all broke and enslaved. Ukraine is simply caught in the middle.

Corruption undermines the cohesion of members of society. To survive, Ukraine must ensure that after the war it is a better place to live. Now some seem to think that fighting for independence is less important than saving one's own skin. This shows that something is very wrong in Ukraine. Well, this is also true in Russia. Time will tell whether either of these countries can restore people's confidence in themselves. I really hope Ukraine is able to do so!

Ivan, Russia started a proxy war for China against the democratic world, but got its butt kicked by Ukraine. Russian losers were defeated and fled from major Ukrainian cities (Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson) and now focus on small towns and villages. LOL

i still wonder how many real soldiers are still left on both sides, or is just civilians vs civilians fighting

It will not be long for sure.

It is unbearable to see the faces behind this tragedy of this war. I don't know what is more cruel - to die in this war or to survive this war? What must it feel like to wake up and you have lost all your sons or children. - No I can't imagine and I don't want to imagine.

I don't like the sound of replenishing the depleted ranks.

To the 500k conscripts about to be drafted, contact frequency 149.200 and ask to speak to Volga. Tell him you are ready to surrender, he will ask you for your location, tell him where you are and how many of you there are. Then you will be picked up and taken to a POW facility where you will await a POW exchange or for the conflict to end. If you have relatives in Russia then you will be released and you can go to your family in Russia.

All this because of one mans greed.

Article 157. The Constitution of Ukraine cannot be changed if the changes provide for the cancellation or restriction of the rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen or if they are aimed at the liquidation of independence or violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

In England during WWII those soldiers who chose not to fight or who displayed cowardice were labeled LMF (Lack of Moral Fibre) and that was recorded on the military record. After the war, employers checked applicants war records, and those stamped LMF weren't offered jobs. Let's hope Ukraine keeps records of those who stayed to defend their country and those cowards who fled the country.
