Behind the Scenes of my Christmas Video - The Irish Guy Vlogs
My behind the scenes look at what went into making my Christmas video. It was made in about 2 and a half days. I wrote the poem originally the day before and thought it would make a cool video, so I stayed up late, wrote the shot list, called a few people the following morning, got all of my gear ready and charged and managed to make a nice little video from it. A lot of work goes into getting a shot that you may never think about, hopefully this gives you a nice insight into it. It's completely different making a film with a full crew. Sometimes it's even more time consuming, so working by yourself can have it's benefits, sometimes. I hope you enjoy the video if you have any questions, let me know in the comments. Enjoyed seeing this - very informative. Should you ever want bubbles again, you might try Bubble bath, it might do the trick!

Great tip!! Haha 2 heads are definitely better than one! 😂 It would have given the shot that extra little kick but I'll remember the bubble bath for my future bubble making needs. Cheers!

The work that went into the video is crazy but man it really shows in the final cut. It was stunning! Great to see the behind the scenes

Cheers man, I appreciate it. I'm glad you like it! I'm very happy with how it turned out and i got a bit weepy the very first time I watched it in full. Gonna make more of the BTS videos for any big videos I do. Hope you had a good Christmas man, see you in 2020!

Thank you Kim, it really is a labour of love. I take it for granted sometimes. I'll fly through a season on a tv show, it might take 8 hours for me to watch it, but it was probably 6 to 9 months of hard work in the lives of the crew. I'll be doing more BTS videos whenever I do a video like this. Hopefully the scattery documentary will be made this year too

@@TheIrishGuyVlogs I love the process man and I get pre-production is where a lot of the leg work is. Sure story boarding, measuring up an ATM for an inserted frame, props, costumes, set pieces, structures, practical FX, I've had to do loads. It's great craic sure. Shooting outdoors between 6 and 9 am in O'Connell St., Limerick before the world wakes up. All sorts of mad shite. I love it and the more ridiculous the more fun it is. Thanks for lifting the curtain man.

@@Headwave Headwave same here! It's a labour of love, and worth every second. I only storyboard if I'm not doing my own camera work, but if I am I just do a few run throughs, pick maybe 2 nice ones and then narrow it down in editing. I love being on set and I miss working on a full film crew, it's a little family/team everyone with the same goal and on the same page... most of the time 😅 I don't miss the early call times but I would happily take any call time these days, I love it! Thanks for watching man. Looking forward to seeing what you'll be up to in the new year! And if you need a hand with any projects I'd love to help out!

It was a nice Christmas, quiet and relaxed with lots of trifle, I couldn't have asked for more 😅 How was your Christmas Ryan? Thanks a lot for stopping by and watching. I'm hoping to do more of this style of video in the new year, some short films and documentaries too.

Thanks a lot! It's my first time doing a behind the scenes, it was. Interesting to be shooting 2 different style videos at once, the hardest bit is remembering to document it, because sometimes you have 1001 things in your head already. I plan to do more though! @@DEADLINETV thanks man! I'm a work in progress, I think we all are to some degree. I love making videos, I do miss working with a full crew. But soemtimes too many cooks spoil the broth 😅 and I just had a really clear vision for it, so it was nice to do it as a solo project. I'm just after seeing your Christmas video... WOW!! 🤤 It looks amazing!! I need to get myself a drone haha. what type do you have? Also you should have so many more subscribers than you currently have! I don't understand youtube sometimes 😂
