It already is a critical darling but the voting bodies don’t want to give this a chance to watch. It’s too bad such a show of this caliber is severely overlooked.

Just read a Deadline article that the series has the highest viewership and acquisition on amc plus after the Walking Dead franchise shows this past year. It did that with a relatively unknown one season and no help from exposure of being on Netf***! I think we will be getting the next season renewal very soon!

I seriously don’t know how this show keeps topping itself week after week! It’s a shame and a crime it isn’t being promoted like the diamond it is. This show deserves all of the praise and all of the awards.

AMC promote this show more. It’s genius!! You have the best cast possible!

The fact that Assad got into "Armand mode" so flawlessly the first time he shot! The fact that Young Daniel showed such a natural evolution to Old Daniel! This cast has been delivering every single episode!

I know we throw around, they need an Emmy a lot but these actors absolutely deserve an Emmy the writers too this is just brilliant

The first thinks i thougt when i saw the first mins: "Wtf i wanna see how Claudia is getting punished for murdering Lestat". After i finished EP5: "This was the best and most important Episode in the whole season". These actors are phenomenal. If theres a vampire god out there, then please give us a season 3.

Agreed. This is series is top tier and this episode was an absolute masterclass. Imo season 01 was better than Last of Us and sits with the first couple seasons of BSG. AMC needs to be promoting the Frak out of this if we hope to get a Season 03: The Vampire Lestat.

Every week I think "This was the best episode so far". Ep 5 was amazing!!

That couples fight scene. Armand and Louis the two brooding vampires throwing burns about their personalities at each other. . .

I cannot get over just how powerful this episode was. Incredible story telling as always thanks to a strong script that takes care and respects the original story and actors who are without a doubt the next big thing in film, but there was something different about this episode. It hit me with such an emotion I can barely put it into words. The life line part broke me and made me all at once. I will never forget the mark it left with me.

“What does he taste like?” “I didn’t ask that” “I’m told you’ve lived a fascinating life” “I never said that” It’s uncanny man, Luke did such a great job getting Eric’s intonation as Daniel

I like that bit of understanding near the end between Louis and Daniel. They sit under the tree, two beings realizing they've been betrayed and changed, while it's a moment of humanity for Louis, Daniel also sees some of himself in the vampire. Plus both being barefoot and reminincing it was coming to grips with what's in store for each, yet what would have sealed it is a handshake as if to say, "Let's try this again." All in all, it was indeed one of the best episodes this season. Also, AMC, thank you for putting the trigger warnings for once, that was a VERY good change from last season when you hesitated.

I think we kinda get an unacknowledged hand shake when Armand enters. They know the truth now and are on the same page with each other. The two needed this nights journey back to the original session. I've read the original several times, and watched the Cruise/Pitt movie at least a dozen. Obviously they are going to hit all the right beats but it will be interesting to see if they go the movie route and have Lestat turn Daniel at the end of the series or in a nod to the books have Armand turn him. They've already strayed quite far from the original Daniel / Armand world wide love affair so it will be interesting to see what comes next.

​@keanueraine I don't think they will unless Daniel can get a younger body. He's got Parkinsons and according to Santiago, the cripple can't be changed. Although my HC is Daniel interviews Lestat after all this. Then again, the fourth book hasn't appeared either...that book is the only route I see Daniel becoming a vampire.

Season's 3 and 4 covers The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned.

Season 3 is required. So much talent and great work from the cast can't just disappear. Love this series so much. I love Armand even more, he wants to hug and love. 

I love this show, I need like a 24 hour long episode of Young and Old Daniel with Louis and Armand because them 3 are just that interesting.

This episode is second only to the pilot as my favorite. peak queer horror, peak drama, peak theater, peak tv

I agree with you that this ispeaktv. But disagree its "queer horror" yes its same sex love, and yes lestat and louis both enjoyed same sex romances before they were turned. But vampires, especially Anne Rice class vampires will dine on male or female. Blood is blood. The drinking of blood as described by Rice can be quite orgasmic. Its not because the vampire is queer, its because the blood is just that damn good. Even the victim can be in the throes of pleasure right up until they ate drained dead. Anne Rice class vampires also view humans more than just dinner. We and our humanity are beautiful to them in a way only really they have the perspective to see. That beauty attracts them and makes them fall in love with us mere mortals all the time male or female. Lestat goes into great detail on that. So I think its an over simplification to call it "queer horror". Horror, definitely, queer at times sure, but its complicated, its not just from an attraction of the same sex way. Its an attraction to the human condition. And sometimes a dude like Daniel is just too beautifully layered to pass up.

I am still not over this episode. This season is what I WANTED in season one. I love this season, so much!❤❤❤❤

This will be an Emmy winner!

This show just gets better and better, episode 5 was fire. Bravo Assad, Jacob and Luke. Just to say Armand I am not fine.

The trauma Armand faced as a young man really screwed him up as a vampire.

This episode is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It’s one of my favorite episodes in the show. It’s both hard to watch yet enthralling at the same time. Jacob, Assad, Eric, and Luke all did an AMAZING job. ❤️🌹

Assad, what a great actor you are. (The entire cast is talented, but I was impressed by the way Assad's eyes can express so much emotion, even with the lenses)

This show is a masterpiece and deserves more recognition. The storytelling, the acting, costumes, sets, editing, directing... Every single thing is done flawlessly. I am trying to think of a plot hole or some kind of lacking and I cannot think of a single thing. You can truly see that this is a passion project with the amount of care that goes into every single detail.

This episode made me cry. What Louis said to Armand was heartbreaking.

That episode is INCREDIBLE!! A masterclass in acting from everyone in the episode.

This episode is better than some of the most praised movies out there. AMC, how about you tell us why you won't promote this? Why didn't you let Film Updates interview the cast when they have such a huge following? You have a gem on your hands, advertise it! Give us season 3!

I love him when I was introduced to him in IWTV. Like, he is so mysterious, looks like a cinnamon, BUT can effin kill you! I love him❤ I stan Armand!❤❤❤❤ Again, Assad is magnificent as Armand. He embodied him perfectly, just like Tom's version of Lestat (yes I said it).

Yes there is so much more to Armand. Who's to say his mind wasn't messed with back in the day by Santino to forget part of his history to get him to being the leader of the Paris Coven. Assad is playing him very well. Armand is an ancient vampire slowly revealing his gifts/ powers

​@@maize_0there's me too. I've always commented that I prefered armand to lestat. I have never read the book but I love the show version so much. Armand is actually the reason I actually started watching the show. I saw an edit of him and it pulled my attention instantly.

Everybody ATE this episode UP, but to play on a phrase...Assad, Assad, Assad, Assad, Assad, Assad, Assad, Assad, Assad, Assad,...dude's acting chops are NOT to be trifled with. #stillshooketh

This episode was Soooo Fraking good. Might be my fav. of the 2 seasons so far.

Even young Daniel is telling Louis his story sounds like a he's whining. Then Daniel asks to be made one and Louis then gets mad at him. Everyone is enchanted with Louis' looks and his beauty at first, but then after a while his melancholy and depression set in, and they call him out on it.

Assad is an unbelievably phenomenal actor. He has really turned it on this season. Bravo 👏 👏 👏

I love this version of Armand and Louis SO MUCH! 🤩

Luke needs to be given more credit.

now WHAT an episode! abolute brilliance

The episode was amazing! The crew and cast manage to outdo themselves each episode. I love this show and its complex characters so much. Such brilliant storytelling through the camera work and acting.

Honestly its simply heartbreaking how Armands deep insecurity has him feeling he absolutely MUST control the narrative of this relationship for fear he will lose the person he should be able to just trust to love him in return. He is so DEEPLY scarred. Then theres old Louis with someone EQUALLY as controlling as Lestat! Armand just goes about it more covertly. I think about a decade of couples counseling for these 2 is definitely in order🤔

This show is condensing and fleshing out the first book all at the same time. Louis, Lestat, Claudia, Armand, Daniel. All are crammed together and their relationships are explored and dissected like never before, uncovering a mystery between them we never knew about before. Seriously, what is the whole interview REALLY about?!

I have been waiting for this caliber pf episode all season. Great story telling, acting, and production. Also, glad Armand got exposed, sick of his @ss.

I love how the episode left so much open in the flashbacks for more details later.

I've watched this episode 4 times now! The acting is amazing.. I was a huge fan of lestat, but this episode made me like Armand and the actor playing him. I really need a season 3. I'm getting really worried. Can't loose this show!

I finally caught up on season 2 and I am just as enthralled as I was during season 1. Such a delight to watch, and the cast is amazing as usual.

I love the whole series. They made a pretty interesting version even if it doesnt match up entirely to the books. Cant wait to see more of this version of Santiago especially!! 😍 Somehow I can see his motivations and despite being a bit of a bully sometimes he seems to definately have a more sympathetic side to him as well. Funnily enough Armand is sort of growing on me even though I still think he can be a bit of a twat sometimes.. definately prefer him over Louis. I definately love the display of powers and social dynamics. The thought put into the details of the entire show. Costumes and set pieces as well provided w obvious care. And how as an audience your made to puzzle and see different perspectives.❤😂 Im also so curious about Marius. Will he resemble Santiago somewhat as much as I expect. Will he at least be Ice blonde or blonde like Lestat. Aghfk.. cant wait. Tho im suspecting we might have to wait at least another season before we get to Marius.

This episode was my favorite! PERIOD (but all of season two episodes are my favorite). Assad's version of Armand is PERFECTION!❤❤❤ He READ THE BOOKS! He is EVERYTHING that I want a live version of Armand to be! He slayed (or should I say bite) in this episode. And I can't get over with his beauty. He is like a painting, so beautiful. And, I love the young Daniel. I wish we have the young Daniel than the old one, I really like him. And Louis being miserable as always, but I love him. And I cried when he tried to S himself, and telling that he heard Claudia.❤😢 I was mad at him (but loving the petty fight) for yelling at Armand, but in the end, I just want to hug him, he is so broken and I just want to make him feel better. This episode made me gagging, puking, crying. I absolutely love it!❤😂 Assad and Jacob did an amazing job. Their acting was astonishing, magnificent! I hope they won an award for their role, they deserve it! Armand is my favorite in the show, I thought tv version of Lestat will have my heart, like in the books, but sadly, he is my least favorite (except for season two ep 3). I do hope they redeemed him because I love Lestat in the books (and 90's movie). S*** will go down in the next episode. And, I can't wait!!!

Armand isn't a mustache-twirling villain, but in the context of the story he is "the bad guy" imo. A 514 yr old vampire uses manipulation and lies to keep Louis with him. One would think that someone with that amount of power would essentially be w/out guile, because he simply wouldn't need it. He can get & do anything he wants with most people, human or vampire. A person you've tied yourself to for a shit load of time has a huge lie he's perpetrated on you, that will always affect the relationship. In this, there's no way to conclude that Louis is the antagonist. Louis is supremely self-absorbed, yes. But if you look at all the vampires shown so far, they all are to varying degrees. Bottom line, both Louis and Armand must reconcile the truth, that Lestat is Louis' soulmate, even though their relationship is the most vigorous example of a toxic relationship.
