Does anyone else miss the days when it was BRANDON and freddie?
@DeathBringer769
2 жыл бұрын
Yup, I miss these good ol' days badly.
can anyone link me to another breakdown of a scene similar to the part where freddie crosses the road?
This is why I love Freddy's videos so much. He shows the behind the scenes of how he does it which I find extremely interesting. Good job guys!
When you guys work extra-hard on a video, it SHOWS. Thank you guys for making the best youtube videos out there.
How did you cross the st with all the cars n stuff?
@DeathBringer769
9 жыл бұрын
Riy 11 He did it on the street when there was no traffic, took a blank shot, and then just masked the actual clip of the traffic.
how you across the street?

One Word :: Rotoscoping just watch the breakdown
I'm glad ya'll are posting another one! I'd like to see how the street cross was done. (mostly to see if it was done the way I would do it.)
Never in my life have I watched such interesting "making of" videos. Your videos are the only "making of" videos that I watch =)
Should have used a Lumia 1020. The camera is the best of any smart phone and yet its still light and it isn't a iPhone meaning its not horribly over priced.. Now you know for next time.
@Signynt

Yes, the Lumia has a good camera but it has an EXTREMELY lousy lighting AND its very slow. If you compare its footage from the Lumia to another Phone (iPhone, on the first glance the iPhone will look better! (I have a 1020 btw.)

u do know how old this video is right?
I like these because they show me ways to do things with video effects that I thought would be much more difficult to accomplish.

EnderWorks Studios - Action Shorts - Music - And More! Agreed, they do amazing work.
3)The clothes change looks like a series of freeze frames with wipe transitions between them. One shot is taken with each outfit and is paused in the frame before he starts moving. When he is done moving his arms the frame pauses and a wipe is used to transition to the next freeze-framed clip.
You guys need to make a whole movie. That'd be kickass.
Gotta say... seeing a Freddie ad when I got onto youtube just made my day. FREDDIE FTW!!!
this is the first freddiew behind the scenes i wanted to watch XD
i wish their videos would be lot longer, they so epic.
Freddie Wong's videos have fantastic replay value.
I like how you drove over the cone at the beginning
love the loading part when you go out the door
Just saw an ad for Samsung featuring Freddie... WOOT!
u r my inspiration freddy... thanks a million
Please do more Behind the scenes about your videos they rock i can watch it as much as the original video:P --- Sent From freddiew's AppRats (Facebook App)!
Great job guys. keep it up
How did you the scene were you had to dodge the videos? Did you record it in an empty street, then overlap it with a shot of cars moving down the same road? I loved this video and you guys! Looking forward to many more years and videos to come!
@2two8 gopros are pretty awesome, i'm sure these guys have heard of it. only thing is it's wide angle lens may have wrecked the standard frequency they used throughout
you guys make sick awesome vids
Man, that car rooftop camera rig looks dangerous..
YOU ARE LEGEND FOR TECHNOLOGY
@billytamer 1080p high profile recording and playback capability. There is even a hacked camera app that jacks up the quality even higher but eats through the storage like there is no tomorrow
I'm fascinated as to how you managed to do the scene where you run across/under/next to all those lanes of traffic.
They are some kickaaa glasses on Freddie!
@RaverGade I can see the slight recoil, but that could be attributed to the typical mechanical application of firing a gun. I mean actual recoil from expanding gas and escaping energy. If you've ever shot a handgun you could see that its no walk in the part, even small 22's have a noticeable amount of recoil.
that mini-heli looks like spotting drone in homefront!
sounds like you guys have fun, I would love to be on set!!
@MoshiiMedia I'm assuming you didn't watch the whole video until the end. Freddie said to leave comments/questions that anyone might have on certain shots so that they can make sure to cover it on the next video.
FreddieW drives with style! Vw Passat FTW!
@iluv2strokes I think they said it in one of their other videos. They first shot him running over the road with no cars, then they shot the road with the cars (but without Freddie), and then they just combined the footage into one video.
@ceebeetan The camera he mounted was the galaxy x II from samsung! They were free and they got a bunch of them lol
Medal of Honor Cat is great. keep up the good work
Dodging cars sequence! Btw, you guys are awesome!
It's always going to be a cool vid when you have to start it with a flashback....
Samsung Galaxy S II - man I want it even more now.
almost like the breakdowns better than the videos, ALMOST
2:47... best Nemesis impression I've ever seen (from Resident Evil)
In the video the VFX Breakdown, be sure to mention how exactly you animated everything and motion tracked everything. Especially the car scenes.
good job running over the cone freddie
They were on national TV? That's great!
freddiew and ViperMan2000. The best of KZread.
2)The road crossing is less clear. One possibility is that the cars and run are two shots both on location. The run would be with the road clear (really not busy day, road closure, something like that) . The other would be with the road busy. With careful editing (lots of rotoscoping) the two could be merged.
this is proof that Frediew puts sound effects on all his vids: press 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and hear all the different sound effects he uses
@Contaika At 1:15 the idea they mention is the new video "Inverted".
@sportychicken1 The car was modelled in 3Ds Max and later added to the video using Adobe After effects
@TheMrchengman the leaf blower was to blow freddies hair whilst he was ontop of the car to make it look like his hair was being blown by the wind
should make a video of you guys going through training of your favorite game
making freddie cry i remember that vid
nice driving freddie, 2:15
Check their other VFX video for Gamer Commute, it's there.
Man, I hope he becomes a filmmaker
CONGRATS ON THE HOMEPAGE KZread ADD!!!
Your name goes together with what you're trying to do.
amazing... i wish i knew how to do all that stuff
@candyliu1230 I really want to see the street cross too! I think they just shot a static shot of the street with traffic, and then another shot where there wasn't any traffic and Freddie crossed, and then cropped them together, then once they finished it they moved the whole image to simulate camera movement. As for the driving on the sidewalk, I'm 90% sure they actually did that, probably on a mostly deserted street. The sun bouncing off the roof of the car would be difficult to fake.
@Rizilo that would have been insane!
@handyman646 they use co2 or gas blowback air soft guns. meaning the slide blows back.
The WONGest day of filming
I love how he runs across the freeway >.
FREDDIEW RULES!
that can be done very easily with overlaying films, it takes time but it can done with adobe after effects. I tried to find the video " Polish Man Plays Chicken With Train" the author who originally posted it shortly after explained how he had done it, i can't find this video of his explanation, but he said it took a lot of time and shot by shot altering.
When Freddie stood on the car, you forgot his shadow.
We deserve some tutorials on 3DS Max! I mean, half your BTH vids have to do with that program, but nobody except for you two knows anything about it!
Nice!
The reflection on the Prius before it was flipped.
AWESOME --- Sent From freddiew's AppRats (Facebook App)!
18 out to 10=ULTIMATE BLOWING ACTION!!! --- Sent From freddiew's AppRats (Facebook App)!
NICE MUSICCCCCCCCCCC♥
@Josephized after effects
AWESOME XD but how did you do the part where freddy had to dodge traffic?
Thumbs up for product placement!
@TheAntonWang they did that in their VFX breakdown
so... you made a video with you standing on a car, and you forgot the wind in your face. so now you make a new video with a brand new Leaf blower??? ...AWESOME!!
Maannnnn. These guys have inspired me. I wanna make a short film so bad. :)
@freddiew2 Hey Freddy and Brandon I have a question.. how did you do the part when you were dodging all of the cars? IMA BIG FAN :D
I'd like to see how you change close in the same way as a video game!
grandes masters, un ejemplo.. saludos desde chile
love freddiew t-shirt
I was really curious how you guys did the frogger scene.
Totally awsome
the things you think of is amazing
@vadervsgallen22 They use Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
@KeOsHiFy They just used a program like 3ds Max and made the car (or used a model), animated it and put it into the scene
nice --- Sent From freddiew's AppRats (Facebook App)!
I love that halfway through you disappeared to shoot Jimmy Kimmel Live XD
@foglefogge filmed the traffic first. then most likely mounted the camera high up in their parking lot where freddie danced around after memorizing the traffic video. then they just masked freddie out and placed him in the footage.
Wow awesome of Samsung to send you guys the S2.. how many did they give you? which scenes WEREN'T shot on the phone?
freddie using sgs2!!
I can't find their Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance they reference here anymore. I remember watching it back in the day, but now when you search for "Freddie Wong Jimmy Kimmel" or "RocketJump Jimmy Kimmel" all you get is the Tie Fighter video they did together, not when they actually appear on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show itself. If anyone has that old video saved somewhere, I'd appreciate some help seeing it again ;)
2:17 Awsome driving skills
they deserve a like
1. how did you do the frogger 2. how did you do the clothes changing so smoothly 3. how did you simulate the guns flying into you 4.how do you make the minimap 5. how do you the scanning effect, you used it to scan the cool car, and you used it to scan the enviroment in futur motion control. please add these into behind the scenes 2
I want one of those phones, I ordered a samsung galaxy S, a day before the S2 came out. Lifes fun...
details on the shot where freddie is dodging the cars on the busy street please!
