Join us on a behind-the-scenes tour of Nostell, West Yorkshire, to discover why this 18th-century house has a legacy of holding the greatest collection of treasures, cared for by the National Trust. Rich in great craftsmanship and centuries of stories, you'll meet Property Curator Simon McCormack who details the history of some of the most intriguing objects within Nostell.
We protect and care for places so people and nature can thrive. Everyone can get involved, everyone can make a difference. Nature, beauty, history. For everyone, for ever.

Mr Simon is a very kind man. He opened the garden gate for us while they closed at 5 and we were still inside and came back 15 minutes later

A great overview of a very special place. For anyone who has never visited Nostell this should encourage them to come.

Only joined National Trust about 1 month ago, and Nostell was the first place I visited just a few days ago. Great video on things I didn't see, and apparently 2nd floor used to be open for the public, but not anymore, which was a shame.

Nice video, great to see Nostell and Angelica Kaufmann but considering how much 18th century Mahogany is mentioned shouldn’t the links of harvesting this material to the slave trade be mentioned? (Also Ivory as well.)

Nice of the NT to miss out all the Christian days of importance on their calender. 😢

To be clear, Easter and Christmas have not been removed from any National Trust calendars, either internal or external. Easter and Christmas will continue to be marked on all the calendars sold in our shops and online, and will continue to be celebrated at all of our our places as usual. We won't be creating a physical calendar which excludes Christian holidays. We hope this clarifies things.

I hope the National Trust survives the onslaught of the present philistine Tories.

Love these 'behind the scenes' videos which show us far more than we can see on conventional visits- thank you. Looking forward to many more- especially Hardwick, Calke Abbey and Lindisfarne Castle, and ones we can't get to in the south.
