This guy is an absolute reference for me, since a friend of mine gave me, in 1971, a copy of one of his first records he didn't like : imagine that, it was "Yazoo Basin Boogie"! Who can dislike this one ? Since that day, I try to play "Mississippi Blues", carrying a full conversation, reading newspaper and turning the pages. Still working...

I met Stefan at a pub in Sheffield called The Highcliffe, it was a great pub with live acts every week. I had bought his album, How to play ragtime guitar, complete with tablature booklet. I struggled with every tune. I spoke to Stefan at the bar before he played his set and he changed his set to include a couple of tunes that i wanted to learn. He gave me an up close personal lesson in front of the audience. This was the act of a kind, generous man who made a living doing what he loved and he passed his love for the guitar and fingerstyle playing on to a generation. Such a warm, giving man who did a huge amount to keep this style of playing alive.

Stefan introduced me to the world of acoustic guitar music when I discovered a Kicking Mule LP at the local library in the 80's. Met him a few times. Nice guy

Nice, I keep hearin richland woman blues today hehe, so glad I learned this tune, from the john Miller book that pointed me the right direction an then got it my own way from listenin to the library of congress recording, only part I gotta get a little better is " hurry down sweet daddy " or " home " I stumble a bit on the melody but everything else is good.

I remember being captivated by some of his music when he was in the UK in the late 60's. He played at Les Cousin's in Soho and, I think, Ken Colyer's, Studio 51 club, in Gt. Newport Street, where I regularly went to see Bert Jansch and John Renbourn and many other greats.......Was it really half a century ago?

I remember the name, as well. I was in Bristol from about 1965 to about 1975, and it is possible that I saw him there. Or, maybe it was at Aberystwyth where I was from 1968 to 1971. Excellent player...

Absolutely the best repro playing of Mississippi Blues. Where would we be without Stefan? RJ was never any good with the 4th chord was he?

At the 7:50 mark, is he playing a particular Bronzy tune or just emulating his overall style? If it is a particular song I want to hear the original,

He mentioned a guitarist named dave raymond?? Is that how you spell his name? I can't find anything on him
