My Grandfather Jimmy Don Boydston was the Elected Sheriff of Potter County, TX from 1982-2000. He was actually Sheriff when this jail was built in 1994

These are actually some of the nicest officers I've ever seen

The first thing you should learn is in jail you are not in charge and you are on their time frame not yours you make no demands they ask for nothing unreasonable but they demand respect

I think both of you are a little far off. Let me make myself clear, correctional officers run parts and I mean literally parts of jails and prisons. I did 6 years in Hobbs, New Mexico and over half that prison the corrections staff only came into those using when absolutely necessary. When we decided we were doing our program believe you me it was well understood.

Well that one inmate certainly got his way in one regard, as he's wearing sunglasses and the officers aren't confiscating them (though it could be for a light sensitivity condition, which is just about the only reason I can think of an American county jail would allow inmates to wear tinted glasses).

I really admire all the officers in this video for their genuine compassion and integrity. Hopefully by the way they treat their charges they will have a positive effect on some of these broken people. Merry Christmas to all of you and your loved ones!

Because they are Security Guards and Not Cops.... These and All Security Guards are Not Qualified and Will Never be on The Road because they didn't pass the Entrance test... That's why they work at the Jail... On their off days they are Mall Security Guards for extra money..

😂 That’s your SRT 😂 former LEO and C.O. and Transport Deputy and where I started out in a county jail there was no such thing as SRT lol we did everything ourselves but we also knew how to use verbal judo and deescalation techniques. We didn’t go to hands on right away unless it was absolutely necessary that way the risk of the inmate being hurt or the officers being hurt are minimal. I understand that sometimes it’s not avoidable but facility safety is number one so learning how to deescalate is huge. We didn’t have but maybe 5 of us per shift and 2 at all times were in an area divided by a locked door and one was in control so again verbal judo was a must. I was only in the jail about two years before I left to work on the street for a city in the county. In Tarrant County Michael was bad at fake crying lol not a single tear haha 😂
