Beginners Learn to repair One concrete step in 5 min 4k video | Concrete and Cement Work

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Benjamin Moore paint contacted Dependable concrete to replace a hazardous step. In this video I demonstrate how we performed this job.
Our website: www.dependableconcrete.com
After demoing the concrete, we set the form. This step will have a bull nose front.p
Will use 4000 PSI FIBER integrated Concrete will use 4000 PSI fiber integrated concrete
To prevent lost revenue., we installed a ramp for Benjamin Moore's clients.
The forms are removed once the cast concrete can support itself.
We use Type 1 Portland cement for the finish coat. It's recommended to match the finish coat to the cement type used in the concrete.
Before smoothing or slicking the cement finish, its important to begin with clean and wet tools.
This red grout sponge is the ideal tool for finishing the facial of a concrete step. See link below for sponge.
A professionally finished step will have sharpe corners and edges.
You want to continuously fine tune your finish.
Remember, timing is key . Keep in mind that while working on an area, you are allowing another area to dry.
A leveled and slick curve in the bull nose shows a finishers level in skill and craftsmanship.
For our finish coat We use a 1 to 2 ratio mix. One part Portland cement to two parts bar sand
Our corners are sharp, plumbed and leveled.
Novices struggle to finish sharp corners
You can do work of this quality now that I have shown you how to do this job. Remember it's important not to rush the process and to efficiently use and manage dry time.
The following links will help you find the tools you will need to accomplish this job:
1. bullnose tool
2. 4" trowel
3. hawk
4. horse hair brush

After less than a year, the cement used to cover the top of the cement blocks and the facia, crumbled and are flaking off more after each snow day. I am removing all of the covering material and my question is what type of cement or concrete do I use to cover the block? Thank you in advanced for your help.
