Returned to the gym a couple weeks ago after almost a year off. 2023 was the toughest year for me. I lost endurance and strength but man does it feel good to be back! I'm already addicted. Can't wait to see my progress. I'm sticking to it this time
One thing she didn't mention that I think makes or breaks attendance is LOCATION. If the gym is inconvenient you will not go consistently. My gym is 1 mile from my home.Technically I could walk, I don't but I could - but I do go 5-6 days a week because it's close. I also go at non-peak hours (ungodly early 4:15am) so I don't feel pressured being in peoples way and others are not in my way. No matter what just GO!
I’ve been using your app. I’m into the third week of the beginner lifting plan. I have lifted for a while now but I love having a plan all laid out for me! I’m definitely getting stronger!

I am 68 yo and started at the gym this past September. I’ve missed a bit here and there but I think I have the right mindset now. I realize the importance and also what it means to my health. I have a few health issues and I know I need this exercise and movement in my life. I probably can’t get the same body’s you younger girls have, but I’m gonna do all I can. Thanks for your inspiration and motivation.

I’m still waiting to get back to the gym. I’ve been out since Oct. had hip surgery that included pulling my labrum back where it goes and cutting a new scallop on the femoral neck/head to create the space it needs. Still on crutches. But I’ve lost so much muscle and gained so much fat I can’t wait to get back at it.
I'm signing up for my first membership on Thursday and i was always so reluctant to go to the gym because i get a ton of anxiety and i hate working out but i have no other option 😭 i injured my knee and my doctor told me it was because i was hyoermobile and told me that after i finish physical therapy i should sign up for a gym membership, i was also told the same thing by my physical therapist 😭 so now here i am trying to convince myself I'm not going to die or something, also I'm very anxious because i can't do most of the typical workouts due to my knee 😭
Do NOT underestimate the power of a cute outfit for the gym.
Gym employees are usually very helpful if you ask them anything. but also random people in gym have been very nice to me
