Beginner's Complete Guide to Car Audio - 370Z Detailed Installation

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

See below for timestamps!
I decided to create a video completely detailing car speaker and amplifier upgrade from selecting equipment to installation.
This video explains wjat you need to know to upgrade your car's sound system with new speakers and an amplifier. The video covers how to select an amplifier, speakers, and wiring, and how to install it in a car. This video does not cover installation of aftermarket stereo's. The walkthrough is performed on a 370Z but a similar process can be followed on other vehicles, and with aftermarket stereos. Depending on if you are playing music from the OEM/aftermarket stereo or another source, wiring to the amplifier and the source will vary.

    Thank you for sharing and explaining in detail the steps involved in upgrading the sound system of your car. I really enjoyed learning the math explanation to understand the Amp, Sub and Speaker configuration, and what one has to do in order to determine the right components when choosing the proper upgrade of the vehicle sound system. You really know your stuff, but most importantly, you shared your knowledge with a community that may appreciate the extent of your work and experience in working towards a final goal. MANY THANKS!!! 👍🏼

    Although I do not own a 370z yet, I will be upgrading to one soon from my 350z. This is the only video on KZread that is a great walk through guide on the 370z speakers. Speakers are a must on these cars because the factory ones are complete garbage. Thank you so much. The Z community owes you a big one!

    The spot where you wanted to put your amplifier at first is where I put my subwoofer. 8" sub is perfect to fill in the lows for the Z. I purposely avoided the Bose as I had plans of an upgraded system before the purchase of the Z. My personal choice of automobile speakers has been Infinity, but there are a host of good speakers out there... Focal, JBL, etc.

    Kinda late to the party, but that's the luxury of KZread! First; awesome detailed video! Question; as the dash tweeters you used are smaller than stock, and many installers prefer putting dome tweeters in the sails or the doors. Does your tweeter placement still fill the car, bouncing off the glass? I'm struggling with tweeter placement decision! Sorry, one more; did you do any rear quarter speakers? If not, is it missing the fill/sound stage? Thanks man! ✌🏾❤✊🏾

    Came here to see how to run a power wire. nissan went through great lengths to keep that main wiring harness waterproof so i dont agree with slicing into it at all. water can follow the wires down and fry your computer. i have removed that rubber/plastic grommet and ranwires through it with the main harness but there is not enough room to fit a 12g wire... my search continues

Whenever I turn on the car the amp lights up and everything but as soon as I hit the play button on the music the light turns off and nothing comes out of the sub. Idk what the problem is I put the ground wire pretty much where you put yours. Any ideas?

  • @thecarizon504

    Sounds like potentially voltage drop to the power for the sub. Or the on signal for the amplifier is some how being disrupted. You should start by taking a multimeter to the sub and seeing what the voltage is to the amp before and after you hit play.

  • @thecarizon504

    @thecarizon504

    5 жыл бұрын

    That depends, when you switch to a tablet it will not have an interface to run the steering wheel signals directly to the tablet. I attempted to get around this using a module that plugs into the aux port and converts the steering wheel signal to an aux signal that is read by the tablet, but this did not work for me. Instead, I currently use a bluetooth media control button for my tablet. If you can find some sort of module that can decode the steering wheel signal for your car and interface with the tablet, then you'll be able to keep the controls.
