    this was one of the first “real” knit projects I did! before this I only did scarfs and very simple rectangular things I loved it! it was so easy to follow along and the finished product came out beautifully! I also completed it in just a few days. It’s a great beginner project imo I adapted the length of the ribbed collar to cover my entire neck, and for the main part I didn’t do stockinette but I did this very simple “bubble” pattern: 1. row: 2k 2p 2. row: 2k 2p 3. row: 2p 2k 4. row: 2p 2k it gives a really lovely effect and makes the item a bit stretchier too! thank you for the great tutorial xx

Ribbing is 16in around and 4.5in long 6in of stockinette st until you decrease and then decrease until for 2in Ribbing around the face is 1in I’ve actually had a few people ask about this so I will try to make either a written guide or tiktok/reel with a chunky yarn 🤩

    Hi! I’m confused on how you joined the neck part in the beginning so it’s a circle. I started and mine its just a line. I can sew it together later but it’s just kinda skipped over how it ended up connected. (I’m using the same needles as u) Sorry if this is dumb thanks!

  • @madeinthemoment

    I think so! What I would do is cast on and knit the neck ribbing flat. Then when casting off for the part that goes under the chin, cast off all the stitches on one side. Knit the hood and do the decreases. With the work still flat, pick up stitches along the edge and knit the ribbing around the face. Then when you're done with all of that you can just seam it up to close it. That should work! If any of that doesn't make sense, send me a dm on instagram and I can draw a diagram or something :)

  • @barefacedquestions

    @barefacedquestions

    Жыл бұрын

    2x2 ribbing is indeed a multiple of 4. If you stick to that, you'd end up with purl stitches. That won't be symmetrical. So some people cast on multiples of 4 plus 2 stitches to end the row with 2 knit stitches. This give give your left and right side the same look. Hope that makes sense.

    When u include Problematic issue, Maybe you also should have mention the issue with xenophobia. when Eastern People Wear an BALACLAVA in the west society. Especially when this thing that you wearing, which is called BALACLAVA and if the word dosen‘t say it all, is coming originally from East culture and it is a very common thing there. it's whimsical, while I had to immigrate into the West People Screamed on me on the streets or discriminate me for wearing a certain look(wearing an balaclava) , because It looked too "foreign or russian" even though not everyone is russian :D now all of Sudden my Culture is trendy or being romanticized, while I was forced to fit to your Culture forget my own and be ashamed of my culture and origins. but hey nice Tutorial Thank you for being woke, Maybe next Time you also include some information of This thing that you are wearing, while it‘s trendy for only one season and maybe tomorrow it's again not cool wearing it. I am not going to feel guilty for being able to wear what I like just because there are jerks in the world who pick on other types of women who want to do the same. It is racist to stigmtize skinny caucasion women just because other people are racist jerks to dark skinned people. It is not my fault that some people are evil as Long as I do my best to be a loving person to everyone I meet.

    We should be working for a future where hijabis can wear their hijab without being stigmatized for it. And I hope you'll stand up for them when theyre being made fun of for wearing their headcovering out of faith while you (and I, Im also white and I assume you arent muslim just like me) can wear it without fearing judgement. Also in a system where white people are in power you cannot be a victim of racism as it's systematic. You can be discriminated against, yes. And muslim women have every right to get mad (its not stigmatizing) at us whites choosing to wear a headcovering that looks a lot like a hijab without getting insulted while they literally get banned from wearing it in university (eg France). I like the balaclava and think it's obv ok to wear but let's not ignore what it does to hijabis who have been harassed bc of it. We have the power to actually do something against it. (Idk where youre from but Im guessing youre living in a country where the majority is white too) (Also before anybody starts yelling, yes I know it's eastern european. Fact is, at least in my country, if youre white and wear this nobody is gonna say shit bc this type of headcovering is trendy all of a sudden but if hijabis wear their headcovering (which can look very similar) they get insulted.)
