Have your book, but hadn't thot of using tracing paper -- better'n making photocopies. Love your tips! And thanks for ID'g the markers you were using ... Just ordered the 100 pack on 'zon. That was very useful, I print out various styles found on the internet and use a cheap light box so I can trace it over and over again

Oh wow! By the time I'm responding to this I bet you got your book already! I hope you love it! And that's so hard about brush pens! I wonder if you'll like faux calligraphy because you can use any pen!

Can I get an example of a “soggy bottom”? I have the book I just feel like my lettering looks wrong or could look better.

As a newbie (6 months in) I have a hard time with spacing when I’m doing the drills freehand. Also as a lefty the transitional strokes are hard for me because I’m pushing my pen instead of pulling my pen….

@@EnsignInsights true! But again, the ovals where the down stroke is on the right is hard for the same reason, I love drawing the ovals with the DS on the left

@@zahakhan_ hey! A fellow lefty! dumb question, but if you’re doing the lowercase b for example, (or even the lowercase o) you still do the downstroke on the left? I can visualize it working okay for the lowercase d but I’m having trouble visualizing it with a lowercase b & the o 🙄

@@ruthannalston well, for the lowercase ‘b’ I do the downstroke on the right, but that’s just because I have a habit of doing that - but if you want to do the downstroke on the right but can’t do it, you can tilt the page ... it actually helps! I don’t think it matters though - when I do the downstrokes on different sides nobody seems to realise! For the lowercase and uppercase ‘o’ I normally do the downstroke on the left, but people still don’t realise so I don’t really care, but, again, you can tilt the page if you want. I hope this helps!
